@Yalda Barekzai Yes bro After training, spend 15–20 minutes only on scanning drills. Example: Have a friend call colors/numbers behind you before the pass Check shoulders before every touch Play one-touch and two-touch games Watch football highlights and pause before the player receives the ball, then guess the best decision Do this consistently and your brain will start processing information faster in games.

@Yalda Barekzai You stay calm by training under pressure consistently bro. At first your brain will panic fast, but with repetition your mind becomes calmer during games. Even top players trained this for years

As a striker, your brain must scan before the ball comes. Don’t only watch the ball — check defenders, space, and teammates every few seconds. Simple rule: Scan → Decide → Execute. The faster you scan, the calmer and faster your decisions become. Watch players like Benzema or Kane — they look around before receiving, not after
Why Football IQ Matters
Most players focus only on skills. But at the highest level, Football IQ is what separates good players from elite players. Knowing: • when to pass • where to move • how to scan • how to create space • how to read pressure • how to make fast decisions These things change the game. Two players can have the same technique… but the smarter player will always control the match better. Football is played with the brain first. That is why Football IQ matters.

Sorry for the late reply. With tryouts already close or maybe passed now, I hope training went well. For any winger preparing for competitive tryouts, the biggest difference usually comes from: - Scanning before receiving - Fast decision-making - Explosive first 3 steps - 1v1 confidence - Defensive work rate - Smart movement without the ball Coaches notice players who think fast, stay composed, and help the team — not only players with skills. Keep working and update us how the tryouts went ⚽🧠
