At the end of 2025, Oracle announced they'd invest $50 billion into AI infrastructure. Well, investors didn't like that because Oracle did not have that much money. So what do they do? Well, They lay off 30,000 people to free up $8 to $10 billion in cash flow. Now, the investors became happy, as their stock price also went up. Ideal Solution, who knows? 🤷 Like, we can't even blame them either, because these companies are built for profits, and to keep up with AI, they do need to invest in these aspects. This story will be the case for many companies, and the irony is that they also don't need to worry about hiring too, because they already have so many people laid off and jobless that anyone will be willing to get rehired . It is an inhumane decision, which is true, but it's their job, you know; they cannot skip profits and look after some people they have no real relationship with I don't know.
