stop thinkin you got a good score jus cause it's high
the number ain't the whole story. i've seen 750 scores get denied for cards a 680 score got approved for. how? lenders look at the file behind the score way more than the FICO number itself. what actually moves the needle: account mix. installment loans plus revolving plus maybe a mortgage. lenders love that. all credit cards? they treat you different. credit age. score might say 720 but if your oldest account is 2 years old, you ain't getting that 30k limit. recent derogs. one 30 day late from 8 months ago can kill you even with a 740. individual card utilization. you might be 9% overall but if one card is maxed, that one card kills your approval. credit seekin behavior. too many recent inquiries even with a good score equals denial. high score don't mean high approval. clean file does. if you tryna stack credit fix the file behind the number not just the number. πŸ’Ž

the navy federal back door most people don't know about
if you can get into navy federal it changes the game. most folks know about their auto loans. but the credit card stack is what makes them different. the back door: open a checking account first. 90 day relationship is your foundation. apply for the cashRewards. that's the gateway. starts low (500 to 5k) but grows fast. 91 days later apply for the More Rewards Amex. they care more about your relationship than your score by this point. 91 days after that go for the Flagship Rewards. this is where the limits open up. 25k starting limits is normal. total stack timeline: 9 to 12 months. total credit unlocked: 30k to 75k+. who got navy fed access? family member who served, currently active, government employee, or DoD contractor counts. if you eligible and not stacked yet you leaving money on the table.

the 30 second move that bumped my score 18 points
nobody talks about this but if you call your credit card company and ask for a CLI (credit limit increase) every 6 months, your utilization ratio drops automatic. spent 30 seconds on the chase app yesterday. went from 4500 to 7000 limit. didn't change my spending. score moved 18 points. works best with: chase, amex, discover, capital one. they got soft pull options now so it don't even hurt your score to ask. when's the last time you called for a CLI?
