Lesson 3 Discussion
Tools: In the start of Lesson 3, Buckland mentions that it's best if you can make your Athame (tools in general) yourself. He even goes into "kitchen blacksmithing" like it's just as easy as making a box of mac & cheese. (sorry but this was my first impression of his instructions). While it really is best to make your own working ritual tools, in reality not everyone has the ability to do that. Have you made any of your own tools?

@Donna Conrad thank you
Success!
I had to share - I finally completed the section of my book on the history of modern Paganism, that has been daunting me for weeks. It's the section on how the rise of Christianity first affected the previous polytheistic religious/spiritual belief systems. Done and moving on to the next section. The Inquistion Era. Also, question... would any of you be interested in me posting "sneak peaks" of my book for all of you?

Mabon Walk
Thank you @Morgan Davis for joining in on the walk today. The park was busy, so there was a lot of avoiding people. lol One thing that we talked about that kind of got me thinking, and I even had a similar conversation with another friend today. How do you celebrate Mabon? A friend said that Mabon is often over looked. For me, Mabon is Thanksgiving, because i stopped celebrating secular and Christian holidays when I became Pagan. So it would be a big family dinner, and/or community potluck dinner. Often with stone soup. Mabon energy always feels so chill and relaxed. It kind of marks when the busyness of the summer ends and settles back into routine. Traditionally, focus would be on getting the rest of the harvest in and preserved for the winter. Various fall fairs would be going on etc. Mabon for me, has always been more of the whole season, rather than a day or an event. I feel like Mabon is celebrated through the many tasks within the fall season. How do you celebrate Mabon? Thoughts?
