Des and I have been talking about something we’re both actually rather good at, connecting people.And that has come about due to knowing A LOT of people here on skool and being well connected ourselves. We often spot opportunities between people and think, “You two really need to talk!” 😂 So we’re wondering whether we could turn this into a service within Collaboration Station. The idea would be that we get to know what you’re looking for and what you can offer, then help match you with people who could be a genuinely good fit. That could be someone to: ✨ Run an event with ✨ Join you on a panel or discussion ✨ Speak or guest in your community ✨ Cross-promote with ✨ Help you reach new audiences, members or potential clients ✨ Or simply create a collaboration neither of you had thought of yet Rather than Des and I disappearing off and creating something because we think it’s a brilliant idea 😂, we want to know whether you would actually find it useful. On closer inspection of my calendar for next week I see I have made an almighty cock up. I do have a very good excuse, believe it or not, but Im still annoyed I slipped up on my organisation. It is still on the same day but you can check the time out here for where you are in the world. And some of you may now find it is at a time you can attend, which is a great bonus. We had our very first Coffee, Chat and Collab this week, and what a great group to kick things off with! It was lovely connecting with @Kerry Upham , @Krissi Driver , @JoAnna Johnston , @Karin Crawford , @Kevin Gebert and @Peter Di Giorgio And one thing became very clear pretty quickly… People here really do want to collaborate. Even better, some of our members are already putting collaborations into motion after connecting with each other here. That’s exactly what we hoped would start happening. We got chatting about the art of collaborating too, because there’s definitely more to a good collab than simply saying, “Shall we do something together?” 😂 So naturally, @Des Dreckett’s name got thrown into the conversation! We talked about getting Des to do a workshop or session around collaboration, and this is also something we’re looking at including in the new sequence of event workshops we’re creating. Growth Boost came up as well. It’s certainly a hot topic at the moment, especially as Skool seems rather fond of moving the goalposts just when everyone thinks they’ve worked them out. 😂 And amongst all the chatting, we shared some really useful event tips and ideas that other members could try for themselves. I shared one of mine that I think deserves a post all of its own… so I’ll share that separately. For our first Coffee, Chat and Collab, I’d say we’re off to a pretty good start. ☕️ And I have a feeling there are going to be some very interesting collaborations coming out of these calls.
