Information governance framework
I have just created a video on developing an information governance framework which may be of interest. https://youtu.be/Ky-xvg1628E?si=gu0MFOWW7IS8r4Gv
Thank you! This is a good overview :)
Shape a career around Data Governance
Hello everyone! I’d like to ask a question as I’m looking to formally shape my professional path around Data Governance. Over the years, I’ve been doing governance-related work in practice, often within small teams or departments inside larger organizations, even if it wasn’t always labeled as such. At this stage, I’d like to better understand how Data Governance roles are defined in the industry and how to position my experience accordingly. Does anyone have useful resources or advice they could share? Thanks!! 😁
Hi @Anas Harnouch , I completely agree. For me, it’s more about the work and responsibilities than the job title itself. What I would like to achieve is to align my work within a Data Governance role in the company I’m working for. This would give me more visibility and, over time, more responsibility. As I’m working in a health company, I believe this can be a strategic position, especially because we work with personal and sensitive data, and this perspective is not yet fully covered. Regarding a data problem I solved is enabling the connection across different silos using Sample IDs. It was tricky because sometimes the Sample IDs were not harmonized (we also can have different names for the same sample). Furthermore, I'm trying to do a data catalog because sometimes people doesn't know what or where are some specific samples, with specific features. Thanks for the advice! I will be looking forward to see the training module :D
CDMP course
@Anas Harnouch , I’ve read the course “CDMP Fundamentals: Decoding Data Manage”. It gives a nice overview and it helps to clarify some conceps. Thank you!!
🗺️ New Course: DAMA DMBOK & CDMP Demystified
Hi everyone! 👋 Let’s be honest: Opening the DMBOK (600+ pages) for the first time is intimidating. Most people get lost in the details before they even understand the big picture. I created a solution for that. I’ve just released the course in the Classroom tab. This isn't a 40-hour deep dive. It’s a strategic Introductory Course designed to give you a clear, high-level understanding of the 17 Knowledge Areas without the headache. What you will get: • 🎯 The Big Picture: Understand how Governance, Architecture, and Quality actually fit together. • 📖 Chapter Summaries: The core concepts of all 17 chapters, condensed into bite-sized modules. • 🚀 Foundation: The perfect starting point before you decide to dive deeper into the full CDMP certification. Whether you are a complete beginner or a pro looking to structure your knowledge, this is the best first step. 👉 Start Module 1 today.

Thanks @Anas Harnouch , it sounds really interesting! In fact I’m reading the DAMA of 500 study notes book, to get the essential 😅. But what you have proposed sounds very promising!
Introduction
Hi everyone, great to be part of this community! I’m Montse Puiggròs. I’m a computer scientist and I’ve spent more than 15 years working with genomics and health data, mostly in cancer genomics. I really enjoy this field because it is the basis of Precision Medicine that has the enormous potential for improving patients' lives. These days, I’m focused on data integration (dealing with all its challenges) to bring data together, unlock its full potential, and turn it into meaningful insights.
