It took me 14 minutes to get on the zoom link, and I went through all I could... But didn't see anyone else... I hope i didn't follow the wrong link... I'll come out to Watsonville soon (after 1:30, likely), Miguel. (Sunday 260517 12:20pm
Prototype 🛖
I’ve tried to make mockups of my future house / build based on the few pages that I could read of the hand sculpted book. They advise to design your dream place based on activities and also a minimum viable first build place to live, realistically buildable the first year (my first big cobin here in the middle). I’ve found it super interesting and helpful to think in functions and how I actually would like to live and realize I don’t really need so much indoor space in the end. The two other cobins attached are the kitchen on the left and the bedroom / indoor shower (mini bathroom) on the right. If you have any questions please ask 😅 It may look a bit stupid made of toilet rolls, cereal and egg boxes but it really helped me to figure out how the actually put and build things in 3D to maximize functional space. 🤓📐

Joining in, finally, to seeing all this. Very hopeful about us all sharing more designs and ideas in ANY ways we can. Gotta get / make / create some time to do mine!!
Termite capping
Are you able to put termite plates on top of pier blocks? I think there's an extra paver that goes on top of the block, could ant capping go under that and on top of the block?

Year-Round 'Micro-Cobbin' Projects
@Sir Cobalot Got any plans for building a cob Dog house? It might be a great way for People to 'rough draftingly' be introduced to palletable cobbing with such a small project. 'Build your Dog a house AT your house, in your backyard WITH your backyard' :) Versions of permanent and portable options might be an ideal variation to include in a classroom presentation. There are some really simple to very elaborate Dog houses these days, and it may be an excellent introduction (especially for Kids). Which brings to Mind that a course for palletable cob 'play houses' might be a great option for those already owning a Home (something between a basic dog house and palletable cobbin perhaps). Bringing me to wonder how well an introductorial experience of building a cob Bird house might fly :) The feasibility of such an introduction (to later scale up to palletable cobbins) may be explored during Winter & rainy months indoors (garage, shed, barn...), allowing folks to 'get their Feet wet' year-round. And how about Bat houses, or is that too wingy? Though with as much as daytime pollinators also need our allyship, a palletable cob Bee hive is something else that may be all-around-mutually-beneficially great to experiment with too. Roundaboutly encouraging me to consider also building a palletable cobbin Chicken coop, I am looking forward to finding a place to enjoy exploring the realm of palletable cobbins. Thanks Miguel!

And... I learned from getting to cob with Sir CobAlot that we STILL have to use slip over the dried sandy flour mixture before adding cob, FYI.
Design concepts
Just thought I’d share a little bit of context and design concepts I’ve been thinking about for my place and future build. Inspiring from nature forms & plants around and also constraints around me. Let me know what you think 😅✌🏽

@Shannon Carpenter There are MANY more opportunities popping up to Soul-fully and mindfully harvest animals. Most of us still need to eat meat, and many (like I) have learned how much better I heal, feel, and maintain energy when I am part of the sacred-making ways of honoring as much of the animals as possible - especially since the organs are some of the healthiest parts to include in our healing diets. Also, the animals respond amazingly when we are honorable and honoring, working in groups... Thanks for sharing your photo and experience.

These are VERY creative and interesting drawings, Nicolas! I love how you are playing with so many organic shapes, options, and design elements. You also said you are hoping to start and then add on in future years.
