Before I'd written a single word of my new book, I designed the cover. I chose the fonts, the colours, the layout. I wrote the title on it. And then I sat with it for a while, because I wanted to be able to picture myself unboxing the first paperback, feeling what that moment would be like, making it real in my mind before it was real in my hands. That image became something to write towards. You can do the same thing. Imagine your book in a reader's hands. Picture yourself signing a copy at a speaking event. Visualise the message from a client who says it changed how they think about their business. Knowing exactly what you're working towards makes the blank page a lot less terrifying.
