I Didn’t Pass the PMP—Seeking Guidance
Hi.. All I hope you’re all doing well. I wanted to share an update on my PMP journey. I recently took the PMP exam, and unfortunately, I did not pass. My results were: Target, Below Target, and Below Target across the domains. To be honest, I’m still processing it. I truly gave the exam my best effort. One of the major challenges I faced was time management—I ran out of time and left about 30 questions unanswered, which definitely impacted my score. I also realized I was below target in the Processes and People domains, which shows me where I need to focus more. Looking back, I see that I relied mainly on free resources and YouTube videos. While helpful to some extent, they weren’t enough for the depth and style of the PMP exam. I didn’t use structured materials like TIA Simulator or PMI Study Hall, and I now understand how critical those resources could be for proper preparation. I’m sharing this not out of discouragement, but out of honesty—and in hopes of gaining your guidance. For those who have been through this or have deeper experience: Where should I begin again? How did you approach a retake? What study plan or materials made the biggest difference for you? I’m determined to come back stronger, and your support or advice would mean a lot. Thank you all for being part of this journey with me.

1st Attempt and unfortunately failed
(TL;DR at bottom) Hello everyone, just wanted to share my experience taking the PMP exam. It was definitely challenging and I was nervous a few hours before the test and during the first section. Using Andrew’s Exam simulator was a great tool and I think that’s what helped me achieve at Target for People and Business. I got Below Target for Processes which will be my main focus going for my second attempt. I will say, the wording on the exam is so tricky and even when eliminating answers, being left with 2 or even 3 potentially good choices made it all the more difficult. The drag and drop were also a nightmare as I used Andrew’s 100 drag n drop study material which also helped but the way the choices were worded made it more difficult than I expected. All in all, I’m frustrated and bummed out at my results but still dedicated and have a new burning passion to pass this exam. Sorry for the long post and thank you for everyone who read. TL;DR: Studied my butt off but still failed the exam due to tricky wording, nerves, and lack of knowledge in Processes. Will attempt again.

@Chianti Prosser Is this questions similar to PMI study hall or in the real exam? How do you rate this please?

@Chianti Prosser That’s a really good point. Not everyone has the budget for the big prep tools, so using free resources like flashcards, matching, and practice questions is a smart way to build the right mindset. The variety definitely helps because everyone learns differently. Sharing what works for you can make a big difference for others who need extra support. Thanks for putting this out there—sometimes “something” is exactly what someone else needs. By the way, have you passed your PMP exam by using this approach?
Seeking PMP Exam Tips and Free Resources
Hello Everyone, First of all, congratulations to those who have already cleared the PMP exam. I am planning to schedule my exam next month, and I would be grateful for any advice on preparation. Could you please share the study strategies, tips, or free resources that helped you the most? Also, I would like to ask about your experience with taking the PMP exam online at home versus at a test centre. My nearest test centre is quite far, so I am considering the online option. What would you recommend as the best approach? Thank you in advance for your guidance and support.
