This happened to me today... I just had a conversation with a family member. She was complaining about not being able to find work as she has no qualifications. I said, an idea would be to try working for someone, for absolutely free... She said "I'm not that low, I would never be a slave to somebody... I have pride in myself". This saddens me truly... It hurts for me to hear peoples ego be the reason to why we will never exceed. How I reduced my self pride: 1. learn from everybody, even if they are half my age. 2. Work a "shit job" 3. Ask for feedback & criticism 4. Surrounded myself with people better than me Please please please, it makes me tear to see her stop herself from learning and experiencing because of "self pride". Confidence & toxic self pride are two different things. To have the confidence to work a "sh*t job" knowing you're gonna quit when the time is right is so much better than being too prideful to work for someone. Please. Genuinely.
