Broadcast Quality Standard: Amazing Authorities is produced to broadcast standards. Guests are required to use a USB or XLR microphone (or another high-quality external microphone), headphones, and a quiet recording environment. Interviews may be rescheduled if the technical setup does not meet minimum audio standards. This changes expectations before the interview even begins. This is what I send, is on my Podmatch profile and expect from a guest. Audio quality is next to impossible to fix in post when you start with poor quality. Garbage in and garbage out. I simply told him to reschedule when he had proper equipment. He said, "nobody else had an issue with my laptop setup with the mic." My response was "please invest in a proper mic as this is a professional podcast show." I doubt he will be back. The moral of the story is to protect your brand and prepare people before your time is wasted.
