Two types of 50-year-olds.
The first says "I'm getting old" and lets his body do what poorly maintained bodies do. He loses a step. Then the stairs are the problem. Then getting up off the floor. The second says the exact same sentence, "I'm getting old," and trains harder because he knows what's coming. Same words. Same age. Completely different Tuesday in ten years. One is preserving a decline. The other is building capacity. I spent twenty years in emergency and flight medicine watching which one shows up on a stretcher. It is rarely the one who was training.

I hate to admit, but I feel this more mornings than not. The struggle is real, but I'm trying to apply some of James Clear's recommendations from his Atomic Habits book. I try to remind myself that I always feel better after a bit of sweat, and that mood follows action. The rest of my day seems to go better if I can get at least three workouts in a week.
Non-negotiable
Travel is rewarding in its own rite, but the ability to generate output and client satisfaction is critical. I carve out intentional time blocks for deep work at home and while traveling.

Steven Pressfield put it best and I'm paraphrasing someone else's explanation. Ass in Chair. Doing the work that truly matters is all that matters.
