@Minac Atlas I totally get what you’re saying. I’ve been in your shoes building a profile on Upwork is important, but sometimes growth feels slow when you’re waiting for clients to find you. What really helped me was looking outside the platform. For motion graphics, I’ve found a few things work really well: - LinkedIn outreach: Find businesses doing cool things on social media or marketing campaigns, and send them a short, personal message showing how you can help elevate their visuals. Keep it value-focused, not “salesy.” - Portfolio & landing page: Even a simple website or landing page showing your work and what you can do helps clients trust you. - Communities & social platforms: Places like Behance, Dribbble, and even Instagram or TikTok are great posting your work consistently brings leads. - Partnerships: Sometimes agencies or small studios don’t have a motion designer in-house. Offering to collaborate with them can land you recurring work. The first client is always the hardest, but once you get that one, referrals and repeat projects usually come fast. The key is showing value and making it easy for clients to see the impact you bring. If you want, I can share a simple plan I used to get my first few clients outside Upwork it’s practical and doable in about 30 days.
