We often see borrowers add a date next to their signature on the Promissory Note. Here's a good rule of thumb: 👉 If the document asks for a date, add it. 👉 If it only asks for a signature, don't add anything extra. The Note already contains a document date, and adding an extra handwritten date that wasn't requested can create unnecessary questions during review. ✅ Complete what the document requests. ❌ Don't add information it doesn't ask for. Have you ever had a borrower try to date every signature line in the package?
