I could easily name the people that, over the years, have been generous with their (genuine) compliments. Nothing spectacular or staged, often just casual remarks like 'what you've done here really makes me think' or 'that's just what you're good at'. It's had such an impact on me that its a practice I've got into, which reminds me, there's a forklift driver at work who's so instantly responsive over the push to talk system, I must tell him! It makes my life so much easier. It can feel uncomfortable at first so I found that it has to come from a place of truth and honesty and must be applicable to all - even those you are not so keen on 😜 Give it a go today, it's a great way to stay grounded, build great relationships and lay down the foundations for trust. Note: - Be prepared to be questioned. Have at least one specific example of the 'thing' they did to cause your complimetary comment on hand. - Start with one on one situations, not in a group. - Never make stuff up to impress. It's sure to backfire! Mike.
