Vibe Coding Just Blew My Mind 🤯
Until a couple of weeks ago I’d never even heard of vibe coding. Basically, it’s AI that builds apps and websites for you. You just type what you want in plain English and tools like Cursor spit out the code. I messed around with it for two weeks straight and got totally hooked! Honestly... It’s insane how fast you can go from idea to creating something real. Yes... this is the kind of tech that’s freaking programmers out because it can literally replace chunks of their job. But for us as digital nomads, this is a massive win. No need to hire expensive devs or spend years learning code. You can spin stuff up from your laptop in quite literally a matter of days rather than months! Even big names are talking about it... Karpathy (ex-Tesla, OpenAI) came up with the term “vibe coding”. And Carl Pei (Nothing CEO) said “the cost of making software is going down to zero over time”. This weekend @Niall Bennett and I are running a live session inside Nomad School to show you what this looks like in action. If you want to see how crazy this thing really is then come join us

Sorry I missed this. I work as a software developer (web apps) and I use Cursor/Claude daily for my work. It's really powerful if you know what to ask for. I use it to prototype ideas, create boilerplate and debug things. I usually have to clean up the output to get the code production worthy but it certainly gives me an massive head start. Was this workshop recorded? I'd love to take a look.
Exploring a Move to Thailand – Seeking Connections with Tech Professionals
I’m planning to be in Thailand this Fall for a “testing the waters” trip, and I’d love your honest input. My fiancé is Thai (we’re currently based in Seattle, Washington), and we’re exploring what it might look like to spend more time in Thailand long-term—possibly even relocating. Right now, my role as a Full Stack Developer is contract-based and location independent, but as Brett has mentioned in his videos, it might not be wise to plan a full-scale relocation based on a single gig. I’m trying to figure out how to leverage my skills as a developer into something more evergreen or perhaps find a role on the ground locally where I can contribute and continue to grow my skills. Here’s the plan for my upcoming trip: - Spend time in Chiang Mai and Bangkok visiting coworking spaces and attending tech meetups - Connect with expats who are: - Working remotely for international companies - Working locally in tech at companies or for consulting shops - Freelancing or running their own tech-related businesses - Members of Nomad Skool regardless of background that would like to meetup! My questions for the community: - Does this sound like a realistic way to “test the waters”? - How feasible is it to build a sustainable work life in Thailand in tech? Not a lot out there from developers who actually live in Thailand aside from the usual digital nomad vids. I guess everyone is busy coding! - Are there coworking spaces, meetups, or communities in Chiang Mai/Bangkok that you recommend? I’d be grateful for any feedback or suggestions. ☕ And if you’re open to meeting up for coffee while I’m there, please let me know! I'd be happy to connect! Thanks so much!— Mike Ps. I hope everyone based in Thailand is safe and not effected by the border issues with Cambodia at the moment. --> Here's a pic of me and a sheep. Bonus points if you can guess where this was taken :)

BTW - the sheep pic was taken at Doi Chang in Chiang Rai Province. Very beautiful mountain with a lot of coffee plantations. I fun day trip or overnight from Chiang Rai or perhaps even from Chiang Mai.
What skills do you have that could be of benefit to others in the group?

I’m a full-stack web developer with experience building web apps, mainly in the social domain. My current tech stack is JavaScript/Node and React but I’m always learning something new. I’m also a start-up cofounder in addition to having previously worked as a technical recruiter at Facebook.
