Testing TikTok Lives with Mom – Need Tips!
Hi! So my client is thinking about tapping moms to go live on TikTok with our product. Our product are kids mittens and summer hats. Has anyone tried this before? We’ll give them a percentage, incentives, and a free sample of the product. Any tips or suggestions?

What is the brand of summer hats? I am on both sides of Tiktok...the brand side, but a creator/affiliate on my personal account and have an all mom following.

It was awesome getting to meet many of you in Phoenix a couple weeks ago! I wanted to share some data that will hopefully prevent others from making the same mistake. I launched back in November and ran some fake buys, mostly in a 3-day period. These purchases were made through an JoinBrands affiliate's video. It took just 1-2 weeks to receive the violation. I'll be relaunching and spreading out the test buys over a few weeks, while also pushing ads to get a better mix of organic purchases. At this point my account and listings are still active, but my settlements have been suspended and seller support says they've made a final decision. Hopefully this is helpful. Happy selling!

We had a huge discrepancy in the public listing units sold vs the actual units we sold in the backend...so yes, I think Tiktok does start detecting if too many orders are going through too quick. It ended up getting us in big trouble as well, so yes, be very careful running too many bulk buys too quickly. Definitely spread them out... I know you are eager to ramp up quick and get going but Tiktok is smarter than we gave them credit for....Slow and steady will pay off in the long run building out your Shop machine! Just my two cents after learning the hard way...
Pre-launch affiliate outreach
I’m about 60 days away from the launch of my kava alcohol alternative and I want to start building my army of micro influencers now. I have a big budget set aside for this, but I obviously won’t have any GMV to show. Has anyone done this before?

Agree with Jason so you have content lined up. I am now an Affiliate on my personal TT...I did it really to understand that side better for business purposes but as a result am getting lots of collab invites now. A few brands have tried to take the comms off of Tiktok and have sent me landing pages and one even texted me somehow so you could go about it that way leading up if your team is targeting the right people and getting interest. I would suggest having at least 1 trusted affiliate video ready on standby to post within a day or two of your launch so you can start running some seed buys through it asap to build up your GMV quick and break out of your probation period also which you need to take into account. Commission incentive, the units sold ... its all key in attracting the right affiliates to push out content once you get going. From a business standpoint, once you get out of probation and hit your GMV goals, EUKA for the auto-outreach was amazing for us. Happy to chat if I can be of any help with doing an Affiliate video for you (or anyone in this group for that matter) if it aligns.

Nice to meet you, Sean!
Copycat Sellers
Hi everyone! We are having a massive issue with copycat sellers on TikTok Shop in the UK. Our team reported 70 sellers today alone. Does anyone have advice on how we can get product listings taken down quickly? Thank you!

Do you have a Tiktok rep? Go to them directly and share screenshots, hijacker details. We had this happen and reported it to our Tiktok Manager directly. We also then were advised to register our shop and brand trademarks through the Tiktok Intellectual Property Portal- which I otherwise would have never known about...I don't feel like this is advertised or really known by brand sellers so good intel to share with everyone...https://ippc.tiktokglobalshop.com/ By registering and submitting your docs here, you supposedly are protected from and/or can report infringements. However, I signed up over a month ago now and am still pending approval so not sure how impactful it is. In theory it probably covers some sort of regulatory check box but not sure how enforced it is, just as a result of our personal experience with hijackers. We have successfully had 1 hijacker removed but now have 3 or 4 to deal with that popped up out of nowhere. Interested to hear from anyone else who is dealing with this as it seems to be more and more common unfortunately. Also, be cautious reporting the sellers directly within the app when logged in to your official brand account. I have HEARD -from a very reputable source and group member here- that someone reported a hijacker that way but then had their account hacked after the hijacker traced back who reported them. Sorry for the long answer! @Brian this would be a great topic to discuss since hijackers are becoming more common.
