Yes, it is a very common way hackers use to gain access to computers / gain info etc. a bat file has lines of script so if you ever download one, make sure to view it with any type of notepad, coding program, or editor etc. I would not ever run one before looking at the lines of code. Usually rat files contain a .bat file, and that is how they get access. There are more than likely millions of posts on GitHub that gives lines of codes you could put into a notepad then save it as a .bat file. I am not 100%, so I would look at YouTube.
