Hi everyone! I’ve been on Skool for some time now but never posted anything before because I’m a little shy haha 🙈 But I thought it was time to introduce myself. It’s been really nice seeing what everyone shares here. My name is Michelle, and in the photo/video you see my horse Jonne. She’s an ex-race Standardbred (draver) and I’ve had her for about 4–5 months now. She is an absolute sweetheart. I take lessons with Zoë every two weeks. At first I mainly wanted to improve my riding, but I’ve always loved groundwork too. The problem was that I never really knew where to start. I tried a few basic things, but it never really worked the way I hoped, so eventually I gave up on it. Since I started working with Zoë, she has already taught me so much. I’ve seen Jonne change from a nervous and anxious horse into a much more relaxed one. Of course she’s not like that all the time yet, because these things take time. But I’ve seen that it’s inside her — she can be that calm, confident horse ❤️ So anyway haha, here’s a little video of me and Jonne last week in the sun, just enjoying each other’s presence and playing around with some groundwork. Far from perfect, but I was really happy with that day and with what we accomplished together ☀️
