Before your current world existed… who ruled it? What traces of that ancient civilisation still remain — relics, ruins, myths, or forgotten tech? Bonus: what caused their fall? 👁️

In my worldbuilding server we have real lost civilizations haha... There used to be civilizations ran by friends/friends of friends like 5-6 years ago. Over time they stopped playing, some friends drifted apart, etc.. New civilizations were built on top of the old civilizations. So we make historical sites of the ruins/abanonded parts of old civilizations. It's really fun!
