When do we know?
Hey y’all, So I’m trying to overcome a problem. I’m trying to finish ish my first ever mix that is all me. Production, vocals, mix and hopefully master. But I know it being my first. It just will never sound good, as good mixing/mastering comes with time and expertise. So how do I go about feeling confident enough that it is good enough to release. I know the answer will probably be the most obvious. Which will be something along the lines of, when it sounds good to me. But really, when? It sounds good every time I listen ha. Happy learning guys and gals ☝🏽🖤

Hi, my advice is: listen to as much professional music as possible on your monitors. Good and bad productions. Judge what you like and what you don't like, and develop your own taste.

Should i put Vocals in mono?

Hi, Whatever you do, always check in mono! A little story: Once upon a time, 35 years ago, I was proud that my first self-recorded song was promoted and played on the local radio station. It was broadcast in mono, and apart from one great instrumental track, only the reverberation of my beautiful voice could be heard. That was very embarrassing! Since then, I've learned a bit about phase cancellation :-)
Developing music
In terms of music development would you prefer knowing a song will do well before it's completed?

HI Alex, When I write a song myself, it is already created in a way that works for ME. If I'm producing or mixing other musicians' songs and I notice that something isn't right, I say so. But I also don't see myself in the situation of having to produce hits and therefore have to satisfy the reactions of a test audience.

@Alex Greco hi Alex, I absolutely agree that it is essential to make contacts and be open to feedback in order to develop in your art. For me, that wasn't clear from the question of whether you should even finish a song. Maybe that's because English isn't my native language. I also always differentiate between music that is produced purely for economic reasons or for artistic reasons.
Best AI Tool for mastering full album at once?
Any suggestions? What’s worked? Need to balance volume across all my masters before going on spotify
