@Christoph Jenkins Thanks for the love and support! Question for you: Can we do some Coaching please? 🙏🏽
I'M BACK, PBI!!! ARE YOU READY???
I want to take a moment to say thank you and I appreciate you all for your support and patience!! Over the past few weeks, I’ve been a bit absent and I want you to understand why. A few weeks ago, when I was preparing for a huge undertaking for one of my client organizations, I had a tragedy in my family. On the day before I flew out for the first of three poetry events across three states in six days, I found out my father was in the hospital. The day I returned from the first successful event, my father passed on Easter Sunday. In that same window: - I rushed home to make my daughters’ Easter play - Celebrated my youngest daughter’s 8th birthday two days later - Flew back out to complete the final two poetry contests in two different states - And all the while, helped plan my father’s homegoing It was a lot. But this is also the poet life... the life of a poetry business owner. Real life doesn’t pause. Responsibilities don’t disappear. You just learn how to carry it all and keep moving forward. I’m grateful to share that the 3-day military homegoing was a success, and my father was honored well. Why I’m Sharing This Not for sympathy, but for perspective. This journey we’re on requires: - Discipline - Commitment - Adaptability - And the ability to keep building, even when life is happening 🚀 Moving Forward I’m back. Back present. Back focused. Back ready to work. And I hope you are too. We’re already up and we’re moving forward. Let’s get back to the work. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DXg7s7AkZgf/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== — Christoph

@Christoph Jenkins Wrlcome back, Christoph! I too know how you feel myself, because I have lost many people in my life due to medical conditions and medical illnesses. My mother passed away from breast, liver, and colon cancer in October 5, 2021. My grandmother passed away around 2009 due to stroke, macular degeneration, and atrial fibrillation. My uncle passed away from lung cancer around 2010s. My other uncle passed away from pancreatic cancer while I was in high school. My other aunt passed away from issues with high blood pressure and stress around 2011. I was in all these experiences with each of my family members back then, and I did my due diligence and best to be supportive of them each time. My mother’s experience was the hardest, most difficult experience in my entire life. It broke me, and it took me years to get over her loss in my life. What I do is that I celebrate my family members who have passed away.

@Christoph Jenkins I love this Poetry Business Network Challenge! There’s a local library here in Manassas, VA that I have previously been to called the Manassas Park City Library, so I am going to talk to my aunt tomorrow about the idea of having my poetry books put in my local library to be placed there going forward starting next Saturday. She wants to get my poetry books edited first, so I may have to wait a bit of time though.

Hey Poetry People! I’m Shalisa Monique but, Shalisa is cool too. Some people call me Lisa but, whatever floats your boat! I’m an upcoming spoken word artist on the south side of Chicago. I’ve been writing and performing since 7th grade. I have a business titled “ShalisaMoniqueSpeaks”. If you would like to see what I’m working with you can search that name on any social media platform. My mission is to transform pain and pressure into peace and prayer through the power of words. I aim to bridge the gap between emotional healing and creative expression. It’s no cap in my rap! I’m excited to be apart of this resource and meet likeminded people! Thank you for having me 🫶🏽
