Hardware update
So I was able to find 2 more RPi 5’s with the same specs. I also picked up a cluster rack so I will have 3 soon to setup my cluster and start building out my setup more deliberately.

Starting Point
Happy Saturday... I joined this community months ago and haven't really had time to dig in yet. I bought a RPi 5 with 8gb RAM and 256gb SSD and recently came across a decent deal for (3) USB 3.0 - 30 TB Ext SSDs under $70 to use as my NAS. Curious if anyone here has experience with a similar setup. I'm hoping that it will work for my intended use. I plugged one of them into my Parrot OS Laptop and it was recognized right away so that's encouraging. Also, just realizing the "Courses" section available to this community. Pretty stoked to see that I have so many resources at my fingertips here. Should help keep me on track.

@Richard Hancox for my homelab setup. For setting up a deducted home server, storage, experiments with different solutions as I learn more about setting up. My needs/desires will evolve I'm sure over time. Not planning anything with AI though. I have no interest there.

I'm not a noob by any means when it comes to tech but the advanced stuff I'm still learning. All self-learned. I have dabbled in many things including coding concepts and Linux cli. I have just been unplugged for a bit - been busy with work and life. Figured I could get some quick insight and just go from there. I will build my lab based on my needs and then as I learn more, it'll naturally evolve and I'll fine tune as I go pretty much
