Question for fellow travel advisors
Question for fellow travel advisors based on something I have been testing in my own business I have booked trips both through supplier platforms like Expedia TAAP and hotel partner portals, and also by reaching out directly to hotels and suppliers to negotiate rates, perks, and group terms. I have noticed there are clear advantages and tradeoffs with each approach depending on the situation, especially when it comes to margins, flexibility, and long term leverage. For those of you actively booking client trips, which approach has produced better results for you overall? Do you find the supplier platforms efficient enough to rely on long term, or have direct supplier relationships given you better control, stronger margins, or better client outcomes? Would be interested to hear what has worked best in your real world experience and why.

Reminder: Starting February 1, if you donโ€™t have a REAL ID or acceptable form of ID (like a passport!) for domestic flights, you may pay a $45 fee to verify your identity through TSA ConfirmID. A passport card ($30) or passport book are both accepted REAL ID alternatives for domestic air travel and can help you avoid this fee, but just remember that a passport card cannot be used for international air travel (you'll need a passport book for that). Learn more about the Real ID policy at TSA.gov/real-id and about passport cards at travel.state.gov/passportcard

This is a hefty price to pay. About 10 years ago I renewed my license and found out that my military status could be put on my license. To my surprise within the last 2 years with all the talk about getting a "Real ID" I found out that evidently the fact that I put my military info on my ID I was automatically updated to a "Real ID" I just didn't know that I had it or even what it was at the time.

Norwegian Aura isnโ€™t just โ€œthe next bigger ship.โ€ What stands out to me is how it brings a lot of things together in a more intentional way. Itโ€™s the first NCL ship that really blends thrill features and open-air social spaces into one connected experience, instead of feeling like everything is scattered around the ship.

Well for the most part Galveston is my nearest port and it's the lowest barrier of entry for most of my customers but I'm very limited on where I can go with them and I currently have carnival, Royal and NCL that just added to the mix. But I primarily book carnival and Royal. I'm looking to do my first NCL booking soon. If I really want a selection going out of fort Lauderdale or Miami is the way to go. Almost every Cruise line is available there.
$24 for an airport burger meal? ๐Ÿ˜ณ
My coworker just posted this and I was shocked ๐Ÿ˜ณ What is your go to? ๐Ÿ” Iโ€™m usually just a Dunkinโ€™ girl, or a sandwich from the newsstands. Iโ€™m just ready to eat all the food in destination ๐Ÿคฉ

Prices at the airport are crazy but then again I guess they figure you're a captive audience and you'll pay just about anything to get a little bite to eat.

Activity/Engagement in the Community = Prizes ๐ŸŽ‰
To keep this community interesting and active, we are now utilizing the leaderboard feature to reward our top players! The rules are simple: The winners are based on who is at the top of the 30-day leaderboard at the end of the month. To gain points to climb up the leaderboard, you need to: โœ… make helpful posts (use the different topic tabs for inspiration) โœ… like other people's posts (keeps you involved with what other people are contributing) โœ… comment on other people's posts (keep that conversation going!) All of this is tracked by Skool in real time, and you can check your status by clicking on the leaderboard tab at the top of the community. The prize for each month (started in November and now for future months) will be the Money Models book to massively scale the success of your business. ๐Ÿ™Œ ๐Ÿ“– And donโ€™t fret if you already have it! I have other prizes in my pockets. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐ŸŽ Will you be the next winner? ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿฅณ
