DAD Fails / F Ups for Laughs
Let's kick this off with something a little light hearted and to take the edge off. We have a ll made a little error of judgement in our parenting journey so who is prepared to tell us about some of thier favourite Dad Fails?? Remember, this is a safe space and there will be no judgement. Let's have a bit of a laugh. Read in the comments - I'll start.

So I'll preface this by explaining that I love my son dearly but as with all little boys, he can test the patience of an Saint on any given day. Charlie was having one of his 'I'm a Big Boy' days and to be honest, I was a little out of sorts that particular morning having been out the night before so my ability to parent at full capacity was very limited.either way. Laura, my partner, and I took Charlie to the Beach so he could Zoom about on his Balance Bike down the Boulevard in Aberdeen and we could get a Coffee to blow off the cobwebs. Usually he doesn't go too far ahead before stopping and when it comes to the big ramps down the the beachfront, I will 'usually' hold the Hood of his jumper to slow him down but on this particular day I wasn't paying enough attention and although I could see him heading toward the ramps down to the beach , I assumed he'd be clever enough to stop before going down. I was wrong. I forgot he was only 3. Charlie didn't bloody stop and went careering down the ramp and over the handle bars much to the dismay of all the beach onlookers who were judging me like i'd thrown him off the bike myself....... To be fair, I did think he would stop. So, a Bloody nose, scrapped knuckles and knees aside, Charlie was thankfully alright but I definitely felt like the worst Dad in the World at that particular point in time and even though I Dad Joked away the shame with 'He won't do that again....' he most probably will and I just hope i'm paying enough attention to catch him. 🤷‍♂️
What is BOY/DAD? A Welcome to all of you ❤️
Hey guys. My name is Mike Deluce, I am the founder of BOY/DAD and I welcome you to become part of the gang here. I too am a father to Charlie who is 3.and the light of my life. He is single handedly the most awesome thing I have ever done in this world and I am proud to be his Dad. So, as a I try to navigate my own journey around Fatherhood, I quickly realised just how many of my pals were in the same boat and paddling equally as furiously up the same river with no paddle. Let's be honest, none of us really knew what we were letting ourselves in for as Dad's and none of us really know what were are doing either. I am not pretending to be an expert but having said that, I've learned a thing or too and I know you guys would have picked up some tips and tricks along the way that I thought you might want to pass onto the 'Future Dads'. So the idea behind BOY/DAD is pretty simple and it is to offer a safe and supportive space for Dads and soon-to-beDads, Father Figures or anyone else involves in raising Little Legends, to be able to discuss all the things that surround the subject of raising Boys into Men. This Community is going to offer a range of different conversations and advice on Parenting, especially from an angle that will support Dad's looking to do their best for their kids. Some of it will come from a proffessional capacity by way of NeuroScientists who understand the brain, and some will come from Dads who just learned to Dad as they went along. I understand that times can get real tough, and sometimes feel very lonely as a Dad and so by creating this group, I truely hope that we can band together to really build a community that allows us to just be the best Dads we can be. I hope this Community turns out to be as frickin' cool as I think it could be and I truly believe it will be with your input. Welcome again and thank you for joining us. To The Next Step. Mike
