The name of the festival is derived from Saint Walburga, whose feast day was celebrated until the Middle Ages on May 1st, the day of her canonization. The purpose of the custom was to drive away winter. 🎯 Origin 🎯 The name Walpurgis Night is derived from Saint Walburga, an abbess from England who worked in southern Germany (c. 710 to 779). As a result of the various activities within the community, members expand their skills in very specific areas. How do communities compare to other areas of life?
