One Page
I've also had this thought for a while, and I'm curious what other writers think. If I can write one page that's genuinely excellent—good enough to earn praise from someone like David Mamet, Aaron Sorkin, or David Stem—why couldn't I write an entire 90- or 120-page screenplay at that same level? I've written a few pages, and I've found myself wondering whether there's a gem among them? Just one. Has anyone felt the same?

@Chad Desrochers …..love the kill my darlings part. That and the rest of your post was great to hear!
Introducing my as a new member of the community
Where you're from → I live in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. However, I feel like I am from both Oklahoma and California as I spent most of adult life in Southern Cali. What you're working on → A short story. I would like to see if it can grow into something more. I am an aspiring screenwriter or even playwright. I just love this art form of movies, plays, etc. What movies and characters do you absolutely LOVE - I hope it is not to common to say. I dig me some David Mamet (Glengarry Glen Ross), Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) and filmmakers like Ridley Scott, Nolan, Bigelow, Scorsese, etc. So whatever they are creating I am in 100%. And what's the ONE thing about your character that's driving you crazy - Do I have to have and ending? Our lives is constant growth so can I end my story in a way that doesn’t cheat (and I hope this is not too presumptuous to say …my audience). And what do you LOVE about them? - I know them like I know myself. I love that they surprise me with their life choices as I write. They take me on a journey every time and I can’t wait to see where we end up.

I would absolutely love to see Glengarry Glen Ross in the theater. I have heard that the Alec Baldwin scene was not in the play, but only the movie, so that’s something worth me confirming. I recently saw the play To Kill a Mockingbird with Richard Thomas. As far as movies that’s so difficult because I have a passion for this medium. it may be easier for me to mention the directors as I love their films. Nevertheless,I am a fan of Gladiator, The Insider, The Social Network, the West Wing, Black Hawk Down, Aliens, The Godfather II, Heat, It’s A Wonderful Life, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Shutter Island, Inception, Interstellar. You asked my favorite movies and I went on a tangent, lol. Love this stuff. Widow.s Peak on Apple is stunningly well written/made. we would call it.

Holy cow. How wild is that. That is awesome. I will definitely be at IMAX next week watching this film.
