Sick But Communicating
Bad news is that my son (and us) have been constantly sick but good news is that my son independently communicated about the fact that he was "hurt" and had an "ouch" and told us where! So nice to know when your kids are hurting and what is wrong!

C came home from school and said “my feet hurt”. Now I have to figure out if that was true or he was just saying it!!

@Samantha Crooks haha I know!! No further complaints…but I will be monitoring!
Clapping
I’ve been so worried about this one, I didn’t know it was a milestone until the milestone came up around 8-9 months. We aren’t super expressive people so I didn’t know I should be modelling this, I guess it might also be a first time mom thing as we weren’t shaking our heads either and surprise surprise that didn’t happen either. Well since I found out we’ve been clapping at every opportunity and singing lots of clapping songs. Well tonight right before bed he clapped for the first time and I honest to god cried I was so relieved and happy. This felt like a really big win for us.

On my little guy’s first birthday he clapped and I cried! It felt like such a milestone and him just growing up and all the things that makes a mom emotional! He now loves clapping and has been meeting all his milestones - hopefully that makes you feel better!

@Alaina Williams congratulations!!! Such a huge milestone for you and your little guy!!
Colors!
Win - maybe?? Our LO now has a preference for what color outfits he wants to wear. It’s fun hearing him ask for “green shirt” or “blue socks” but I am going to have to buy more green clothes if this continues 😂

Haha yes for sure. And he says “geen” so even cuter
Tantrums
This might not be a win but my son is newly 2 and deep in the tantrum phase. Is anyone else here right now? I guess the win is that my husband and I are pretty consistent at holding boundaries while also being caring even when we’re both overstimulated

@Allie Medack ohhhh we may need to get this book! He loves the lovevery books in general. Totally in toddler phase with tantrums over the smallest things!
14 months
My wee one is always babbling away and screaming when i scream back at him in a fun way of course he copies, but when i say mamma and what does the car do beep beep and other words he doesn’t say back yet. I don’t know if I’m just comparing to other babies younger or at his age that are saying mamma, etc. Is anyone at the similar age do this?

@Samantha Crooks some of our early success was pausing when reading the same book over and over again for the end words. So like “I want to go…” and he would fill in “there” after lots of repetition and fun hand movements.
