@Laurie Meyers when the trigger to eat kicks in pause and take a breath - there’s an underlying unmet need here - see if you can connect to what that is for you and address it from another way besides eating. Habitual eating like this becomes an unconscious pattern so bringing it into awareness is important and pausing and redirecting before you eat can help - it’s called patter interruption - instead of trigger = go snack can you slow down when you feel the trigger and do something else first- check the laundry, take some breaths outside, text a friend - this pattern interruption gives your brain time to actively kick in and you can make a new choice - give it a try!
