Who wants it??
OK, firstly I am not calling any of you out for a fight.... It is not that kind of who wants it! What I am asking you to do is ask yourself 1 question..... when it comes to training a behaviour.... Who wants it? So often I get a message, or a phone call from a customer who starts the conversation "I want" Now whether that is followed by recall, loose lead walking, crate training etc etc, it always starts "I want" So, flip the question on its head for me you lovely people..... "What does your DOG want"

From Pippas behaviour yesterday, it seems she wants more people about to give her attention. 3 extra souls she didn't know well, lots of attention, then settled nicely on her place with a bully chew, while everyone carried on chatting. Ps. It could also be her, telling me to sit down with her for longer, I'm not very good at sitting still until late evening.

Thank you James. I know i still have a bit of catching up to do with the videos etc. I will get there. First though both me a Pippa to have a well earned rest for the next few days.
Does your dog like the vets?
Most of you will know Teaser (AKA the wally, the idiot, the most annoying frustrating dog in the world at times) loves finding ways to go to the vets! He genuinely cannot wait to go inside as soon as we arrive. Here is a video of him yesterday when we had a pain medication review; The sequence: Name called Given his lead Off he pops to his favourite vet

Pippa has been very happy to go to the vets. Hopefully next week I'll take her again to get her weighed. She already knows where to go, just getting an excited pup to sit still is a challenge. Lol

Yesterday I had the time to enjoy a coffee catch up with another SKOOL. Whilst it was a coffee catch up, I was given some extremely valuable advice and it was (suggested, advised, instructed - insert other similar words here) that I should share things more. So, I have taken the advice onboard, been brave and set up a YouTube Channel. I will be slowly starting to build the videos for this channel in due course, but I feel very inspired and motivated to have been given this suggestion by someone I look up to and value within the dog training world. If you'd like to hit the subscribe button on the channel in advance, use the link below. https://www.youtube.com/@puppyanddogtrainingUK I shall be drinking lots of coffee to get me through this...... Ooohhhh look a lovely mug.... Want one?

I think that is brilliant James. It would be really helpful to discuss starting up from before puppy comes home. And the first steps with settling a puppy in. I found lots of videos, but as a 1st time puppy owner, I felt totally out of my depth for the first few months. I think I've made a lot if mistakes, listened to the wrong advice. I'm hoping this doesn't have long term effects for Pippa and for myself.

@Rachel Palmer my puppy also likes to sigh. She does that a lot when I redirect her to a sit or on to place, when she was up to naughties like breaking up lego models to chew. Lol

My problem with Pippa now is car travel. I'm not sure if it's the putting her in a crate in the car or she is anticipating we are going to work. From work she never wants to leave as she knows we will be getting back into the car. I did some positive training, but she is back to not wanting to get in. As soon as she thinks it's the car and not a walk, she lays flat to the ground. I then pick her up and put her in. I'm going to get the basket back into the car, see if she is sitting next to me, if this makes a difference. As then she knows it not crate and sleep.
3 Day Challenge
How have we all been doing with the 3 day challenge? Has anyone got their sheets printed and filled in? It would be great for you to share some of these tasks you've been trying to achieve with your dog.
