Almost one month into ads and 110 members stronger, I’m noticing a couple of important things. I don’t feel like I need more data, I think I need to take action. But first, I’d like to share my read on this data: 1. Getting a cold audience to join my community is almost a walk in the park. This is a huge win after months of being stuck. 2. Getting them to tell me why they joined (or to reply to my DMs at all) is anything but a walk in the park. First hypothesis: My classroom and cookies seem of little value or interest to people. I don’t think a Challenge or other format will change that significantly. Nor will the size of the classroom. (just my theory) I think the mothers of teen boys space calls for a strong authority figure who clearly tells folks what to do. Right now, the vibe of people I'm attracting is "just following page for any advice" (literally the only mother who replied to my DM). No one's interested in booking a free discovery call. That's where the idea of daily group calls comes in. From the wonderful @Ceri Higgins I’ve now heard about an offer around child anxiety (somewhat similar to mine) where parents can join two group calls daily (one at 10AM & one at 6PM). There is no shame about sharing their situation with the mentor in front of everyone. In fact, hearing everybody else’s story seems to help people connect and find community. I’m writing this here because the freemium community low-to-high business model that this commnunity models does not involve any group calls whatsoever. Which brings me to my next point… Second hypothesis: the free community is a problem for this sensitive, highly specialized kind of offer. I do believe that a 7-Day Free Trail sets a different tone from the get-go. Sam Ovens talks about the 7-Day Free Trial being a game changer for many communities. Where does this leave me? I think I need to combine some of the low-to-high stuff with some of the high-ticket stuff. I think the classroom is not the fastest way to build trust for me, and the calendar is being underutilized. My plan: I will try to build my authority as fast as possible by offering two daily calls for people to hop on while still doing push posts and growing out my YouTube library.
