Hey guys! In the quick video, I describe a method for adding details to a painting that has a lot going on. In this example, the most important point of focus is the baby in the center, so once I blocked in all of my main shapes, I started at the baby’s face and I’m slowly making my way, spiraling out from that point. Each brush stroke on make is in support of that point of focus. This not only makes it much easier to decide what part to paint next, but it also makes the painting much more cohesive and it gives the eye a natural path through and around the painting. Hi everyone! Sorry I haven’t uploaded any course materials yet, I’ve been busy working on commissions and this 8x8ft painting I’ve been working on for a long time. This painting has been an absolute beast and it takes up nearly my entire studio apartment. I had to build canvas from scratch out of Home Depot materials and it actually won’t fit through any doors so I’ll probably have to disassemble it when i move out 🤷‍♂️. Please be patient as I am progressing through my life on “artist time”. I want this group to be a place where people can show their work and learn and connect and it seems to be growing a little!
