How Many Communities Are You In?
Being considered a Skool "Power User", I'm in a lot of communities.. But I don't see that as a bad thing. One of the signs that someone is going to stick around on the platform is when they get plugged in and are a part of several communities! There are a mix of people in here.. some OGs, some who have been around a bit, & some brand new. I want to know how many communities you're in and what makes you join and stay in a community? Be as specific as you want to be :) This will be helpful for those who are wanting and working on creating a community worth joining and investing time to really become a member. 🫶

Currently in 30+, but working on whittling that number down. Some of the communities I joined when I first landed on Skool have been abandoned. Some no longer apply to me. But generally, trying to keep up with too many communities feels like another tax on my mind. Being in a period of overwhelm already, cutting some of the deadwood would feel like giving myself space to breathe.

I just had to share what’s unfolding inside my Skool Community and my Skool journey — because it’s working. (in just over 3 weeks) ✨ Discovery Rank: Currently #44 in Spirituality ✨ Made it to the MRR Leaderboard today: #18 in Spirituality! ✨ Affiliate commissions from Skool: beginning to flow (first $4, the seed of millions 🌱) ✨ My First Skool payout will be $1000+ in 2 days 💸 What makes this especially exciting is that this growth came organically — through authentic engagement, powerful transformation, and genuine human connection. The main driving factor in this success is Authentic engagement Active, present ownership A niche that is helping people thrive and get excited about clear results. We’re not just building a community. We’re co-creating a movement To my fellow Skool creators: - Stay consistent, keep showing up, and lead with heart. - Momentum builds when you pour your energy into service, creativity, and connection. - Have Faith and Keep Believing in Yourself!

Congratulations!
How long have you been on Skool?
Curious to see who’s been here the longest. 👀 How long have you been on Skool, and what’s one change or feature release that you thought was a great move? There’s been a lot of updates over time, so it’ll be fun to see which ones stood out most to each of you.

When I joined and when I started engaging are two different dates. I haven't been paying attention long enough to notice any Skool-side changes. The biggest change I've seen is on my side: becoming aware of how well-engineered Skool is for keeping attention hooked, and then taking steps to regain control of my time. The Skool platform reminds me of Twitter back in its heyday. People congregating according to mutual interest, and everyone lifting everyone else up. It's all too easy for the day to slip away, surfing from one group to another in here--then wonder where the day went.
Gained 68 Days Back & Improved My Skool Strategy
In 14 days I cut 4.5 hours a day of screen time. 😳 That equals 68 days a year of freedom back. 🎉 I did the math to see how much this meant I gained back vs losing by taking those hours x my hourly rate... let me ask you this: How much is your time worth an hour? How much are you losing daily? For me, it was a LOT! What stood out to me was not just my personal results, but how this challenge activated people. A healthy 7 day free trial gets members moving right away, and the way Matthew set up the longer challenge kept them posting, checking in, and staying consistent. It showed me how the right structure can carry people far beyond the free trial. After the trial is over, the weekly giveaways kick in. Every check in counts as an entry, which means daily engagement is built into the design. It is simple, but it works, and it is something I plan to adapt for my own upcoming community. In about 12 hours we are going to have a live call to go over it with Matthew and hear his mission with his community. 🔴 Creating A 7 Day Free Trial | Monday, September 15 at 11am CST (Zoom link has been added!) @Matthew Thompson will share how he set this up, why the 7 day free trial works, and how you can use the same structure to boost activation and retention inside your own Skool community. You will see how to turn a 7 day free trial into 90 day and beyond success by transforming lives before anyone pays and fueling long term community growth. 🚀 This is the type of strategy you can study and model for your own community, while also benefiting from it as you participate. Who is coming to the call?

@Matthew Thompson Thank you! I appreciate both the webinar and your taking the time to answer my question. Just that one idea alone (reclaiming 1B hours of screentime) hit me like a bucket of water. "What's my outrageously optimistic mission?" You got me thinking. Unfortunately, now is not the time for me to join your community but, as @Jenna Ostrye said, that doesn't mean I'll forget. A weekend workshop in Ireland sounds fabulous. (My wife will 💯be aboard!) Let's see what the next few months bring, and maybe I'll see you there. Thanks again. One of the most inspiring hours I've spent in a while.
Thank you from an overthinker
Big thank you to @Jenna Ostrye for sharing the Skool Builder Checklist and Canva templates in the Classroom section. Finding those felt like a cool wash of relief after a week of burning my gears, overthinking how to set up my community. Biggest takeaways (based on immediate impression) are that I have been *way* overthinking my images, and that checklist feels like someone tossed me a buoy. It's so simple, yet takes a huge load off my poor brain. My ADHD is phenomenal at coming up with ideas and delivering engaging, entertaining lessons. But it's not so good at keeping details organized--especially when learning a new platform. That course is another example of how phenomenal the Skool community has been. I have never seen an online space so supportive. Thank you! P.S. -- To show that I was paying attention in the other lessons, too, here's a poll. Is Skool the best platform, the best-best platform, or did I just eat a whole box of cookies and the feeling will pass?
