Current market and plays
Hey everyone, I would like to share my thoughts and wanted to have a discussion about the current state of teh market. I’ve noticed it’s getting increasingly difficult to find good and affordable sealed products with real potential. The market has exploded in 2025 – products sell out quickly, prices are way above MSRP and even (small) reprints seem to make investment outcomes less predictable. That’s why I’m curious to hear your thoughts on what sealed Pokémon products are currently the best investment opportunities in this current market. This could be recent sets, upcoming releases, or more niche items like special ETBs, promo boxes, or Japanese sealed products. A few questions I’d love to discuss: - Which recent or upcoming sets do you still see growth potential in? - What’s your view on the risks of reprints? - Are Japanese products a better play right now? - Are there alternative sealed items (like pin collections, holiday sets, etc.) that might be flying under the radar? Personally, I’ve been looking at 151(ETBS, boosterbundles), Prismatic evolutions (ETBS and bundles), and possibly some older Sword & Shield sets that are still somewhat accessible(Fusion Strike, Lost Origin, Chilling Reign, Astral RAdiance, Silver Tempest or Brilliant Stars). But I’d love to hear your strategies and opinions! I think reprints wont hurt as they used to like lost origin and fusion strike in de Sword and Shield era. They will dip maybe 20% but at what pricepoint are you prepared to pay for a BB? For me its around 150 euro for a BB (Journey and and Destined Rivals (maybe 160) In my opinion Japanese are a good alternatieve in this kind of boom market but English will always be preferred when the market is down. So i dont have allot of japanese myself (i have VStar uni and 151 bb) Looking forward to the discussion!

@Mark van Zee Stores seem to be putting Destined Rivals at around 200+ per booster box. Is this overpriced? At what price point do you think this would be a buy?
Terastal Festival ex ❗️updated with Special Illustration Rares*
We have already some RR cards with the Eeveelutions of the set Terastal Festival ex (High Class pack set), the new set that will launch on 6 of Dec in Japan. In English will be lanched on January as Prismatic Evolution. This is a set that all the market have a lot of expectations (at this point i don't know if this would be good or not haha). I already order 2 boxes in Pokemon Center Japan, with a cost of 5.500 Yen, around 33,20€. Is really good price for High Class set, but also need to add the shipping cost to Europe, the fee of Tenso (the proxy company for order in Pokémon center Japan and the one will receive your order and resend to you in Europe) and the importation tax (21% in case of Spain). If someone is interested in Buy on Pokémon center Japan and how to manage the order comment on this post and i will open a special post explaining step by step how to do it. Coming back to the topic this are the Eeveelutions of this set! looking forward to get my boxes of the set! Nice day to everyone! Special Illustration rares are revealed, i like them and i think with the shiny of the cards will look greater than in picture. I guess many people don't like them with the crown (in fact i think are one of the first Special Illustration rares with the crowns over Charizard from OFlames and PFates and Hydragon of Surging Sparks) but we need to give a chance and see them in live, i'm sure would be great). ** individual pics of the SAR cards are published in new comment on this post.

A tutorial on that would be great!
151 booster bundles
Hi all, Do you guys have tips where to buy the 151 booster bundles when they restock in december? I see some pre sales already but kinda silly prices like 375 per case. Or will this be the cheapest out there?

@Henk Z Once the reprint comes, the price market price should probably tank
🇯🇵 Pokemon Card 151 Reprint rumors
Last week I heard that Pokemon Japan has ordered a new print run of Pokemon Card 151 and that it will be restocked at stores in May. Great news! Prices on cardmarket seem to have dropped below €150 per box and I'm guessing when this reprint hits Europe prices will drop more. I'm hoping for a ton of product, and a good sign is that for the first time since 2020, Japan’s Pokemon Center website is selling booster boxes of recent sets without major restrictions. Hopefully they have finally increased their production output. I will definitely invest in this set and get quite a few boxes as soon as the price is right. Even if a lot of boxes hit the market, you can't really go wrong with this one I feel (if you get in at the right price). What about you guys? Did you already invest in some sealed boxes? If not, will you?

@Nick Meesterberends They just announced that there will be more reprints coming in June/July so most probably prices will drop even lower than 100

@Dominik Kubala If I recall correctly, you live in the Netherlands right? I assume you'd still need to pay 21% VAT and 4.7% import duties on top of the base price of the products, am I correct?
What's your exit strategy?
People often talk about which items or sets are good to invest in and rarely talk about the end game. I'm still building my own exit strategy and knowing that I'm pretty new in this, I want to get some opinions. What would be your exit strategy when it comes to selling your products? How do you decide when is the right time to sell your products and when to keep it for longer? How do you plan to sell your products and to make sure you can sell them for a good price? Do you have different selling plans for different products?

@Mark Vb Damn, that's a bit of a bummer. I think part of why the hype is weaking is because the recent SV sets are pretty mid after getting strong sets in the 2nd half of the SWSH era. Hopefully we can get some good sets in the near future

@Natalia C. Interesting point, I have some stuff that I keep myself for collection and other stuff that I keep for investment and the collector side of me relates to you.
