Do you see the problem?
There are 4 visible mistakes with this Delta MS foundation waterproofing system and one visible building code violation. Can you guess them all?

@Jeffrey King yea that’s a no go! A lot of builders do this when they think they can get away with it. I could tell that’s where the rock came from looking at the color of the soil and background. I was just offered a job last year, it was a full build in WA and they were going to put me up in a beautiful cabin but it paid on my performance and honestly if they knew it was easy they wouldn’t have geared my pay like this then tried to make it like it was a vacation for me. They only have a few months of summer out there and I had no room for any mistakes or delays I would be penalized financially. It didn’t take long to add everything up and turn it down. I’ve heard some other horror stories like this, being stuck in a contract 2,000 miles away. They get like feet of snow up there at a time. No thanks!!

@Jeffrey King I’ve never heard of this happening. I mean somewhere the starts may align. That’s why when I get done giving a bid on anything about $20,000 I say now add 25% to that figure for unknowns. They seem to not like to hear that but when it comes time to tell them hey we have an issue. You’ve already laid the groundwork to increasing the job amount.
🚨 You’re About to Get Screwed on Your New Home Build… Unless You Read This First
Hey Builders (and Future Homeowners Who Don’t Want to Cry Later), Picture this: You break ground on your dream home. Everything looks perfect on paper. Then the change orders start rolling in… Your budget explodes by 20–50% (real stats show most projects overrun by at least 16–28%, and some hit way higher). The contractor ghosts you mid-project. Hidden defects show up after you move in—like leaky foundations, wrong HVAC sizing, or insulation that turns your house into an icebox in winter. You’re stuck with $50k–$200k+ in fixes, delays, or regrets. Sound familiar? Or terrifyingly possible? I’ve been there. I’m building this community so you don’t have to learn the hard way. Build Smart or Get Screwed is the no-BS spot for: • Spotting contractor red flags BEFORE you sign (the top scams happening right now) • Real checklists & templates (contract reviews, change order trackers, inspection red-flag lists) • War stories + photos from real builds (members sharing quotes, floor plans, horror pics) • Weekly value drops: “This Week’s Pitfall” breakdowns, live Q&A, peer reviews • A tribe of people who’ve been burned (or are paranoid enough not to get burned) We’re talking the stuff builders and contractors hope you never learn: • Why “cheap” bids almost always cost more • The change order trap that adds 20–50% overnight • Hidden defects most inspections miss • How to protect your wallet from front-loaded payments, vanishing crews, and “surprise” extras Right now the group is free/early access while we build momentum—but spots for full access (including premium templates, deep-dive modules, and priority Q&A) will go paid soon ($29/month or less to start—way cheaper than one bad change order). If you’re: • Planning a new/custom build • Already under construction and smelling something off • Recovering from a nightmare and want to help others avoid it Drop a reply below RIGHT NOW: 1. What stage are you at? (Planning, breaking ground, framing, etc.) 2. What’s your #1 fear right now? (Budget blowout, bad contractor, defects, delays?)

Hello everyone it’s nice to me everyone. I’m in the rental maintenance industry. A few injuries have set me back. I used to do renovations whole house rot repairs on the oceanfront properties. Your post hit hard because it’s all true. I deal with sketchy people all the time because they’ve been ripped out too many times. That’s a hard job to work. Gaining confidence from your homeowners is the first key point. That and have everything clear in your bid.
