Another Weekly Call!
Hey everyone, Coach Matt here. We’ve been running the Wednesday coaching call for the past two weeks, and we’re now adding a second call at 10am EST. This should make it much easier for our European members so you don’t have to stay up late anymore. πŸ˜„ Hope to see more of you on Monday at 10am EST. Be sure to double-check what time that is in your specific time zone.

How to land the db97531
Hey all, Coach Matt here. About two months ago I landed my first DB97531. Most people are not at the level where they can train the drills that lead directly to that trick yet. It takes years of consistent juggling to reach that point. So here are the progressions you can work through with fewer balls that eventually build toward it. Where to start as a beginner (Progression chain #1): 3 ball high throw β†’ 3 ball 531 β†’ 4 ball 534 β†’ 4 ball 75 β†’ 4 ball 7441 β†’ 4 ball 7531 Intermediate progressions (Progression chain #2): 3 ball β†’ 97500 with leg taps β†’ 4 ball 7531 β†’ 4 ball 97530 β†’ 5 ball 753 Advanced progressions (Progression chain #3): 97500 with pirouette β†’ 5 ball 753 β†’ 5 ball 97531 dominant hand β†’ 5 ball 97531 non dominant hand β†’ 5 ball 97522 3up360 β†’ 5 ball 97531 continuous β†’ 5 ball b972222 3up720 Expert progressions (Progression chain #4): b972222 3up720 β†’ b975300 5up360 β†’ 6 ball b97522 β†’ b97531 dominant side β†’ b97531 non dominant side 7 ball preparation (Progression chain #5): 4 up multiplex β†’ 966 β†’ B6666 β†’ 5 up 360s β†’ opposite hand 5 up 360s β†’ D666666 β†’ DB97522 β†’ DB97531 to collect β†’ DB97531 back to pattern The main cues that helped me were pairing the DB with the 9,7 and 5,3, throwing the 5 high before the first throw, and starting from the non dominant side. Using both cues together made it much easier to get the B high enough and stabilize the pattern. Finally, here are all the progressions linked in one chain below for easier reading... This is literally worth YEARS of training and I'm giving it away for FREE in this community. If you care about leveling up your juggling, stay tuned for more gold dust. Full Progression Chain: 3 ball high throw β†’ 3 ball 531 β†’ 4 ball 534 β†’ 4 ball 75 β†’ 4 ball 7441 β†’ 4 ball 7531 β†’ 97500 with leg taps β†’ 97500 with pirouette β†’ 4 ball 97530 β†’ 5 ball 753 β†’ 5 ball 97531 (dominant) β†’ 5 ball 97531 (non dominant) β†’ 5 ball 97522 3up360 β†’ 5 ball 97531 continuous β†’ 5 ball b972222 3up720 β†’ b975300 5up360 β†’ 6 ball b97522 β†’ b97531 (dominant) β†’ b97531 (non dominant) β†’ 4 up multiplex β†’ 966 β†’ B6666 β†’ 5 up 360s β†’ opposite hand 5 up 360s β†’ D666666 β†’ DB97522 β†’ DB97531 to collect β†’ DB97531 back to pattern
Lesson on 360's from today's coaching call
Hey everyone, If you weren't able to make it to the call today, we went over some pretty awesome stuff when it comes to getting a cleaner pirouette. Here are the top 3 things to help make your 360's, 720's, and 180's cleaner! 1) Start with your footwork 2) Speed before power 3) Less motion is more Starting with #1, I recommend keeping the foot that doesn't move completely still as an anchor. This is your primary way to stay stable while generating the force you will need to have a strong, fast pirouette. You want to start with your feet close together, and then step backwards the length of your foot to create a gap between your heel of the planted foot and the toe of the foot you are about to spin on. #2 is commonly overlooked and I see it as a road block for most jugglers, myself include. For the longest time, I didn't care a out technique with pirouettes. I thought that I could get away with poor technique if my strength was able to override the need for efficiency. This is WRONG! It's an easy way to get hurt, developing muscles in the incorrect ways, and it will hurt you in the long run. Start slow with your pirouettes, thinking about rotating around your spine. Avoid bending to the side, rather try and keep your shoulders parallel to one another during the initial push-off before the actual pirouette. Last but not least, #3 is referring mainly to efficiency. When you fail to keep your arms tucked close to your body during a pirouette, you require more power to spin fast which usually ends up in sloppy landings and leaves you disorriented in space. Whichever foot you spin on, keep the same side hand on the opposite side of your chest (so my right hand would go to my left pec) and keep your opposite hand on your opposite oblique muscle (so my left hand would go on my right oblique). If you want tips like these, make sure to show up to the weekly calls. We're slowly growing and I love to help you guys with whatever questions you might have! (don't be like the guy in the GIF haha)

Great pattern!
Habit building and routined practice
If you want to actually get good at juggling, you need to build strong habits, period. And even better, you need to have a daily routine that you follow most days of the week, if not all days of the week. Personally, what I've found best is to run a short daily routine with balls, clubs, and rings, because that short routine refreshes all the old skills, warms me up, and keeps my foundation really sharp. And only after I complete that mini daily routine, I add new tricks that I'm excited to learn, which means that I get consistent reps in, I'm able to maintain my skill level, and then on top of that, I'm able to progress on harder stuff while still having fun. This turns into a cycle, and I'm able to continue to make my daily routine more and more difficult as I run this cycle more and more. It locks in your consistency on "easy" tricks, and it adds on this section that actually drives new skill. So over time, the hard tricks actually just become your regular daily easy routine. I made a video about this recently so feel free to check it out if you want some motivation :) https://www.youtube.com/shorts/uXS_SuxCYUI Routine β†’ Reps β†’ New Tricks β†’ New Baseline β†’ Better Routine.
