What venue type comprises most of your gig experience?
95% of all my paid gigs are from some kind of senior living community. I know several members who indicated they play weddings and other types of places. I'm curious where most of us are coming from?

On drums I play clubs, weddings, private parties etc. But on guitar I only play restaurants at the moment. I’m working on the senior communities now.
What songs are you rehearsing right now that you are loving?
I'm playing Jim Croce's 'Photographs & Memories' , Johnny Cash's version of 'I've been Everywhere', and George Harrison's 'While my Guitar Gently Weeps'. I intend to try all 3 before the end of this week's show line up and will share my progress with The Performer's Circle! What songs are you working on?

I feel pretty comfortable with most of this list. Some are stronger than others. I'll keep improving all of them. I'm still finding my voice. One day I'll sing great(i think) , another its like I can't sing. I record myself listen and delete it. I'll record some video for feedback soon. Last time I posted video on line I regretted it immediately. Have a great day.
Welcome to The Performer's Circle
I'm excited to build a community of musicians who want to turn music into meaningful 'paid' gigs! It's so much fun playing music for senior communities and I'm happy to help you along your journey as you begin shining love and light on senior audiences. To kick things off, introduce yourself below and answer these 3 questions: 1. What instrument do you play? 2. Have you done any paid gigs yet? 3. What would your "dream gig" look like? Let's help each other grow, improve, and get booked!

Hi all, my name is Matt I’m in southern Massachusetts. Been playing drums since I was 10 and gigging a lot since 14 and still going at 55. I dabbled on guitar off and on over the years but really started actually playing in 2018ish. Covid hit, all my drum gigs got canceled, I was locked in the house with the family and’s lots of time and I got much better at guitar quickly. I really enjoy playing and learning guitar and play way more than I should lol. I’ve been gigging on more guitar than drums ever since. Just restaurants and small bars. I love carting an acoustic guitar into a venue much more than drums. for the past 2 years I’ve been singing in a duo with a buddy. We each show up with 20 songs and We’re both good at playing while reading chord charts so we take requests and try songs for the first time in front of an audience, and they pretty much always go over on front of a drinking crowd. I got laid off off from my desk job recently and stumbled onto Chris’s YouTube channel. I’ve watched so many of your vids Chris. they’re very informative and inspiring ( thank you for all that). While looking for work, I started thinking… why not try music for a living? I was thinking bars and restaurants. But I like this game plan better. It suits me. I play drums and guitar at my church and it goes over very well. I’ve been building a set for a senior community. I know I’m ready. I need to start calling. I’m a chicken as a salesperson which is not a good quality when cold calling. Looking forward to learning from you all Matt
