Poll question - most strokes on a single hole
What is the most number of strokes on ONE HOLE you have witnessed an adult take and finish the hole? Will post a funny/not funny at all story after I get a few answers. (No - it wasn’t me haha)

I played a high-end course (keystone river) and one of the players probably struggled to keep any hole under 10 strokes but then they was a hole that she definitely took no less than a 20. Probably more. We encouraged her to pick the ball up and keep us moving. She said, basically, “I’m not a quitter”. Her husband just STFU the entire time. Her preshot routine was elongated as well. What really got me is once she was one foot from the hole, how many times she needed to align the ball (3-5x) before she felt confident in making the putt finally. I hope none of you ever see anything like this poor display of respect and etiquette lol.
Sand Valley
Some of the best golf in Wisconsin. Still one of my favorite courses in this state. Played it again with favorite caddie. 5 birdies on back 9! 33 on the back.

Greenside bunkers in Arizona are so inconsistent as far as firmness, amount of sand, etc. How do you judge and adjust for the shot?
Advice on slowing down mental game
Knowing Charlie hand selected everyone, I know you’re all fantastic people and looking forward to meeting/hearing from you. In life, I am wired to rush rush rush whether it’s responding to a work email, or hurrying up to pull into the parking space so I don’t inconvenience the people Waiting behind me 😂 This translates against my favor on the golf course, the voice inside my head tells me to hurry up but in reality, a slower metal tempo is when I play my best. I’m a fast player in general, but notice if I’m a twosome jammed between foursomes, and I’m forced to slow down, this is when I play my best. What I’m asking the group, anyone that battles/battled this, any advice on how to force yourself to slow down, take your time, not feel Rushed, etc.? Also extremely relevant many rounds the first couple holes as I try to settle in, or when you’re paired with a nightmarish slow group and you (erroneously) feel like you need to hurry to make up for their slow a$$es. Welcome any advice from anyone!

@Shannon Letcher Yesss!!! That’s exactly the Type of stuff I’m talking about. I have gotten so much better the last few months slowing my mind down. For me it combines positive self-talk along with telling myself I don’t have to rush. basically telling myself in my head “This is going to be great, so take your time, it’s worth the extra time to hit an awesome shot” But I love the physical act to slow down.
USGA rules
I tried to google but found contradicting Info online so I’d rather post and get engagement points haha. Came up on the course just in casual conversation and my buddy and I both thought they changed the rules to allow you to ground a club in the bunker now. We googled to verify but that doesn’t look like the case. Are we thinking of something else?

@Dan Haynes awesome! I absolutely remember that change in the penalty area. And then we thought they changed some terminology in regards to penalty areas, waste areas, bunkers etc Good stuff!
