Thanks Giving and Xmas songs
Hello everyone ! I’m targeting you Americans here for knowledge!!! I have been kindly invited to my American neighbours for Thanks Giving. ( First time for this and I don’t know what to expect or wear ect… all advice will be taken in ) She plays the piano ( I would say she is a pro) and wants to duet with the violin for Xmas , she is eyeing the Michael Buble stuff. I’m an introvert performer and only play with an audient ( my son), whom has no choice but to listen, haha. So I would love some song suggestions to play for these two occasions or even practice ( I’m not expected to play for Thanks giving !) All advice is appreciated !! Thank you for your time !!

Americans have a tendency to push the Christmas season/music way too early. Just my opinion. On the second day of the actual Christmas season one hardly hears a Xmas song on the radio. Everyone has moved on to the next holiday.
Northern Lights in my garden 🙂
Nothing to do with violins, but this just happened in my back yard, so I thought I would share it with you guys. You could actually see it with your own eyes and without a camera 😊 ( most of the time you can only see it through a lens) Just a quick edit for those who want to visit and see this :- In the summer months here, it doesn’t get dark until at least 2am in the morning ( even then it is lights due to the sun rising at 4am) So no good for the aurora viewing

LOTR Medley
Howdy all! I have been working on the Alison Sparrow arrangement of LOTR Medley. I pulled it out of the 'not quite experienced enough yet' vault. I give you In Dreams, and Concerning Hobbits. Allllll feedback welcome! @Jenny O'Connor your little padawan is growing in the force!! 🥺🎻🎻🎻

That was lovely, April. You have a nice vibrato and third position.
The party is happening all day :)
Hi all, just wanted to clarify that there’s no specific time or meeting today. Feel free to share anything you like today in honor of the holiday and I’ll be watching the threads here to cheer you on and say hello. You can click “select category” and “LOTM Day 2025 Tradition” if you want your video to go down in history of kicking off this Skool group and honoring this most festive holiday. I’m new to this platform so figuring it out right here with you. What do you think of it so far? I think it’s really cool!

Very nice.
Congrats Suryo and Friends!!
Created a new discussion area called "WINS 🏆" for all of you to post your wins, and kicking it off with this. What a feat to perform this beast of a song in front of 150 people! I've posted this on YouTube and shared with email list. Here on the Skool Group for you LOTM-heads, I wanna point out something I heard in the middle of this performance that really surprised me. These gents included some obscure variations played only by my sis and I in our lesser known living room YouTube video performance of this piece. The guitarist Ankur nails the intricate picking. Suryo shifts into 3rd position and includes his own unique expression and emotion through those parts. And now we have a discussion thread for wins, so please feel free to share your wins. No win too small! Just start a post, and select category to have it placed under "WINS 🏆" where we can all congratulate you. Violin has ups and downs as we all know well, so we've gotta celebrate whenever we can!
