WIP (Works in Progress)
Let’s see what everyone is working on. Use this thread to share your works in progress. I’ll start! My sculpture student and I worked on these hand built masks earlier this week. I’m waiting for them to dry before their bisque fire!

@Brandon Katz Yay! I love those. It’s been really fun seeing your creations come in. I actually didn’t realize the tall one was a dice tower. Now I like it even more.
Hello Kiln Club! Introduce yourselves here.
Hi everybody! I’m Mary Helen, the founder of ATX Kiln Club, a tiny community studio in Austin, Texas. Kiln Club exists to help the home based artists in our community thrive. We offer firing services, studio space, workshops, and events to folks in our own neighborhood, and I’m excited to expand our amazing community of creative and curious artists to the rest of the world here on Skool. I am a part time ceramics artist and instructor, mom of two, and freelance food stylist (basically a chef for the camera). I’ve been working with clay for almost a decade now, and I really love sharing what I’ve learned with others. I can’t wait to get to know you all here in our Skool community. Please use this thread to introduce yourself. Tell us where you are from, a little about your own experience with clay and pottery, and maybe a fun fact like your favorite food or secret talent. I’ll go first, I love sushi! 🍣

@Emma Huenefeld have you tried putting the wheel on blocks and standing? Might help depending on where it hurts!

@Emma Huenefeld I was in my third trimester when I first learned to throw. There were a couple of wheels in that studio that were lifted just a little (like on cinder blocks) and it seemed like there was a difference between the higher or lower ones, even while sitting down.
