A verse - prayer for others
I really like this prayer that we can say for others. It takes the sometimes too personal element out of things (especially if we're having difficulty with the person in question) by addressing the prayer to their guardian angel. "Spirits ever watchful, Guardians of your souls, May your wings carry Our souls' petitioning love To the human beings upon Earth Committed to your care; That, united with your power, Our prayer may radiate with help To the souls whom our love is seeking." German original: "fuer die Freunde auf Erden, besonders diejenigen in Gefahr" "Geister Eurer Seelen, wirkende Waechter, Eure Schwingen moegen bringen Unsrer Seelen bittende Liebe Eurer Hut vertrauten Erdenmenschen; Dass, mit Eurer Macht geeint, Unsre Bitte helfend strahle Den Seelen, die sie liebend sucht." ~Rudolf Steinerfrom 'Verses and Meditations pages 204/205

when I pray for someone else, I wonder whom I need to address. Sometimes I ask my own angel to contact the angel of the other person and communicate my prayer to them. But isn't that a bit convoluted ? 🙃 Or I address their own angel directly, or "just" God. Or I send my prayer "to whom it may concern" 😄. This is a nice prayer, Mick. I agree with what you write: sometimes it is difficult to pray for someone you have personal issues with. They need our prayer all the more, and I feel it is also healing for our own wounds, when we pray for someone who hurt us deeply. Meanwhile ... it would be nice if members here would pray for my dearest friend Marie-Claire who is in a slow process of leaving the physical plane. She is such a kind, loving soul, and so spiritually attuned. We've had many conversations about the spiritual planes and Christ. I think she will be welcomed by Christ and many angels on the other side. I'll miss her so much. Thank you for this prayer.
What we need in dark times...
There are such dire and horrific things coming to light in the world at the moment. Many of the things contained in the Epstein files have been known in "conspiracy" circles for a long time. But seeing it out in the wider public like this is both vindicating and terrifying. It's not just hurt people hurting people. It's far beyond that. It's people who actually get pleasure from causing pain which Rudolf Steiner describes as the beginning of black magic. And we can see how all of this is tied into the way the world is run. If we're not careful, these things can completely overwhelm us. It occurs to me that we need an extremely robust spirituality that can hold it's own against scientism (the belief that science has all the answers) and the materialistic world-view (that matter is all there is). But more than that, we need a robust spirituality that can withstand actual evil. This robust spirituality must support individuals to develop a strong moral fibre from within (not from outside rules). But it also needs to be able to meet and satisfy human beings intellectually. The time of the New Age gurus endlessly repeating phrases like "we're all one", "we're all love" and "nothing is real except love" has come to an end. This just doesn't cut it anymore. On one level, we are all one. And yes, we are love. But the individuality matters too. We cannot defeat the evil that is coming to light with platitudes and feel-good songsters singing "imagine all the people" (as much as I love John Lennon). We need a new kind of inner strength, even to just hear about what is happening. Good will win, but it's not a forgone conclusion. It's up to us. Wishing you much strength, courage and love in these times.

Christmas and the Spiritual World
The 13 holy nights (from the 24th December to 5th Jan) are a very special time spiritually speaking. The veil between this world and the spiritual world becomes thinner during this time. This has its positive side and also its negative side as not all spiritual forces/entities have our best interests at heart. Over this time, the human soul actually lives through everything that we’ve experienced through all our incarnations from the time when we were “at one with the Gods”, when we were less individual and at one with the spiritual world. This was the time when we were given the seeds of our freedom and our individuality and also our ability to make mistakes and choose evil over good (referred to as “the fall” in some traditions). Before that time we were so connected that this was not even possible. We live through (unconsciously) everything that the human soul has had to endure from those primordial times up to the present day. Then on the 6th January (Epiphany) we are led to a vision (unconsciously for most of us) of that being who entered earth evolution to enable humans to spiritualise their individuality (or their “I”) and the earth itself. Wishing everyone in this group a peaceful and connected Christmas. Warmly Mick

thank you Mick. That's interesting and new to me, what you write about recapitulating all our past lives during the 12 holy nights. I read about predictive dreaming each of the 12 nights for the coming 12 months, as to Steiner. I wish you and your family peaceful and loving Christmas days. As well as to the community.
a thank you...
Thank you to all of those who joined us today on the free Spiritual Development Session! I especially enjoyed the insights and experience our attendees shared. From Buddhist backgrounds to "Heartfulness" meditation and excellent questions regarding the trinity of Thinking, Feeling and Willing....and their connection with Steiner's work. This was a bit of a test run to see how it went, who showed up and how the Skool platform works. I'll run another session soon. For those who attended, please let me know in the comments below: - what you thought of the session - what worked and what didn't - how the session might be improved Best wishes Mick

@Sue Bozzo I perfectly understand your writings. For me indeed, strengthening my connection with Christ is what I need most in enduring a lot of illness symptoms, enduring loneliness, and also to learn to practice forgiveness and learning to be a more loving person. In moments when I suffer a lot, mostly during sleepless nights, I try to remember the suffering Jesus Christ endured for us, the whole of humanity, and I try to feel his personal love for myself.

@Sue Bozzo same question here. I bought the book you mention, in a Dutch translation, but didn't finish it (yet).
