How does my AI Second Brain keep up with news?
A community member asked me if GoBot has an RSS feed to keep up with news. Great question! Real screenshots below of how it all manifests in GoBot. This is a classic example of thinking about individual apps when you should be thinking about systems. GoBot doesn't just 'have an RSS feed' in the traditional sense. It has an entire information ingestion and summarization engine that goes far beyond a simple feed. Here's what it can actually do: 1. MONITOR ANY SOURCE: RSS, specific websites, email newsletters, Twitter accounts, YouTube channels, Notion pages, academic journals, even private Slack channels. 2. RELEVANCE FILTERING: Instead of getting ALL the noise, GoBot learns what's relevant to YOU based on your projects, interests, and how you interact with information. It discards the rest. 3. SUMMARIZE & SYNTHESIZE: It doesn't just deliver articles. It reads them, condenses key points, extracts action items, and connects new information to your existing knowledge base – your AI Second Brain. 4. PROACTIVE BRIEFINGS: GoBot can generate a daily or weekly briefing tailored to your needs. Imagine a personalized 'morning paper' with only the news relevant to you, summarized, and ready to inform your next steps. 5. TAKE ACTION: Found a fascinating research paper mentioned in an RSS feed? GoBot can automatically add it to your reading list, extract key figures, and even draft an email to a colleague about it. 6. BONUS: I call call Gobot via phone, and say - let's do content interview. It looks at latest news it gathered, my projects, and what's relevant to my community. Informs me, asks me questions, and also if I need more info, it can go and search web for clarification. On my way to office, I stopped listening to podcasts, I talk with GoBot. So, yes, it handles 'RSS feeds,' but that's like saying a self-driving car 'has wheels.' It's a small part of a much bigger, more powerful, autonomous system that builds your AI Second Brain. What kind of information do you wish your AI would proactively bring to your attention?

Was it my question about this that you're replying to? Many thanks! I've been setting this up and also set up GotBot to monitor the best YouTube channels that I follow and notify me of new videos in the daily briefing. It's also useful if you follow a lot of people on SubStack or other publishing platforms. I set up a separate daily news briefing page/post for that, as there are too many sources otherwise. I haven't set up other options yet - relevance filtering for general news and processing of academic articles look especially useful. >What kind of information do you wish your AI would proactively bring to your attention? I think it would be useful for it to surface new content of any kind relevant to certain specific interests - say, Gaussian splats (to take one of my current projects). Not sure of the best way to manage that since it works across multiple sources and could quickly turn into the Sorcerer's Apprentice scene in Fantasia :) The agent would have to be configured to be extremely selective in order to avoid flooding.
