Hey, I'm Martin, I go by "MX Bell". I'm a writer/director currently looking to get my first feature off the ground (we have/had a sales agent sign up my WW1 horror TRENCHFOOT but they haven't yet secured any pre-sales for it). I have some very storied EPs who are behind me as a writer/director but we're struggling to get financing for my projects because I'd be a first-time feature (and live action) director. I've a long history of working in animation and VFX for blockbuster films, I was visualisation supervisor for the upcoming Apple series NEUROMANCER, for example; and I was VFX Art Director on DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE. Currently on the new SUPERMAN. I use Unreal Engine for my work and run a Youtube channel, Realtime Workflows, where I teach people how to use the Engine for filmmaking. I'm working on a feature film which I'm making basically myself in the engine and broadcasting the process live on the channel. I've made quite a rod for my own back as I haven't actually written the feature yet -- that's on my to-do list the next couple of weeks! When I heard about this group I realised this is the sort of space I need, where I can focus on the creative. So much of my time seems to go on the business side of things these days. Heading to Cannes tomorrow, as I do every year, to try to expand my network, spread word about my projects, and be seen and have fun really. I'll leave you with the award-winning short I made by myself in Unreal a few years ago. Thanks for reading this far if you made it!
