What are you working on this week? (31 August)
It's officially Back To School week here in UK and my youngest son is starting his A Levels in the Sixth Form. We've been out and spent a small fortune on a new suit as his school requires "smart business attire" and now we're trying to get back into the routine of waking up to alarms and working to timetables 😆 What’s YOUR focus this week? Perhaps it’s: ✨ Creating or improving your coaching offer 🌱 Growing your community 📝 Creating resources for your clients 📣 Getting more eyes on your offer 💬 Finding new clients 📚 Learning something new 🛠️ Getting those behind-the-scenes jobs done ☀️ Making some time for yourself too Pop your focus for the week below ⬇️ And let us know if there are any areas you’d like some support 🧡

My biggest focus this week is getting more eyes on my new entrepreneurial program and beginning to fill the founding cohort. The registration page is live, so now I’m shifting from creating and organizing to promoting, having conversations, and inviting the right people into the program. I’m also reminding myself that I don’t have to do EVERYTHING at once. One focused step at a time.🫣

@Miri Campbell we owe it to ourselves.
How’s your client onboarding?
We spend so much time thinking about how to attract clients and get them to say yes, but what happens once they do? When someone signs up to work with you, do you have a set process that takes them from becoming a client to their first session, or has your onboarding just developed naturally as your business has grown? How would you describe your client onboarding?

I have a standard on-boarding process that I use, which includes the contract, expectations, tentative schedule and workbook.

🎂 The Coaching Resource Library is 3!
The Coaching Resource Library is my collection of coaching templates and it's 3 years old this week 🎂🎉 🥳 🎈 🎁 🎊 🧁 🎂 🎉 Three years ago, I started bringing together all the coaching resources I'd been creating into one library. I wanted coaches to have somewhere they could find the resources they needed, without having to create everything themselves. Worksheets, coaching exercises, workbooks, client forms, session tools, planners, business resources, marketing resources... I've created rather a lot over the years 😂 And this community is part of that too. Back in February, I created the Coaching Resource Room because I wanted to share the Library with more coaches. I wanted somewhere I could bring coaches together, share my resources, give you useful ideas and tools, and help more coaches. And in just 7 months, more than 1,600 of you have joined me here ❤️ The Library itself has continued to change too. Most recently, I've moved the whole collection onto my own website, where I've been able to organise everything to make it easier to find what you need. I want you to be able to open the Library, find a resource, and make it yours. So I think the Coaching Resource Library turning THREE deserves a little celebration 🥳🎂 Sooooooo, I have something planned for this weekend... 👀

In this post, I asked what everyone was working on this week. Now I'd love to know how you got on 😁 @Maria Montserrat you were working on growing your Better Than Fine community. How has the week gone? @Allison Bonilla you were updating your student workbook and getting ready to return to Facebook. What progress did you make? @Kemi Adekunbi you wanted to get more eyes on your offer. What did you do this week? @Veronika Hübner you were getting your act together 😆 Did it happen? @Debra Banks you had a busy week of B2B collaboration sessions. How did they go? @Klara Szell you were creating your rebellious new marketing concept 😎 How is it coming along? @Ginger Hamilton you had dishes, yarn and a YouTube video to deal with before building your empire 🤣 What did you manage to get done? @Sean Reddaway MSc you were finishing the marketing strategy and videos for your Alpha Protocol coaching programme. Is it nearly ready to go? @Eleanor Beatrice you were getting more eyes on your offer, speaking with potential clients and keeping the work behind the scenes moving. What happened? @Kate Galli you were onboarding new yearly members, setting up your systems and working on your social media approach. What was your biggest win? @Danielle Mitchell you were inviting people into your community. Did any new members join you? @Jodi Hasbrouck you were sorting through all the ideas in your head and deciding what needed your attention first. Did you choose your focus? @Marleen Greenleaf you were organising your calendar and creating the event sign-up for your first entrepreneurial programme cohort. Is it ready?

Yes! 🎉 The event sign-up is officially LIVE for my first entrepreneurial program cohort! Getting everything organized, setting up the registration page, and finally hitting publish was definitely my biggest win. Eventbrite set-up had me questioning my Christianity!🤬 Now I'm moving into the promotion and recruitment phase for the founding cohort. Excited—and maybe just a little nervous—to see it all coming together!
How much does a new client know before their first session?
Imagine I’ve just signed up to work with you. Before we have our first proper session, would I know... → What happens next → What I need to do before we meet → What I can expect from you → What you expect from me → How and when I can contact you → Where everything I need is kept → What happens if I need to cancel → How our work together is going to work Or have some of those things just naturally ended up being explained as you go? Once you’ve been coaching for a while, you know exactly how your business works but your new client doesn't and there are probably lots of little things we take for granted because they feel obvious to us. What's ONE thing you always make sure a new client knows before you start working together? 👇

Before we begin, I want us both to know that we're a good fit. Coaching is a partnership, and I believe there needs to be alignment between what you're looking for, what I offer, and your "willingness" to engage in the process. I'm not here to tell you what to do or do the work for you—I'm here to create the space, ask the questions, challenge you when needed, and support you as you discover and own your next steps.
