Wedding DJ Pricing
Hi All, To the DJs in the group who work weddings, what do you charge and what are things to outline for client expectations? So far I’ve only really done my friends’ weddings for free and I’ll just play all night cus I’m having fun. I’m getting requests from people I don’t know and I’m not much of a capitalist so I feel immediately guilty charging people for what is just a hobby for me.

I've been doing more weddings over the past couple of summers and I concur with what's been shared. It's a case by case basis. Value your time, communicate what you are offering, and what you are not. Clarity goes a long way. There are simple forms that you can send a prospective client that will garner a great deal of information about the event in writing that'll provide you with the information you need to determine what you wish to charge for your services. That approach is one I'm utilizing now, and it's really supportive.
