💫 Eight years ago, my wife and I were filled with joy about her pregnancy—until a routine checkup revealed something alarming. Her TSH levels were at 200, a clear sign that her thyroid gland wasn’t working. The doctors were clear: an urgent abortion was necessary. 💔 Over the next few days, we consulted with four different doctors from various institutions. All of them reached the same conclusion—an abortion was mandatory. They explained that the baby’s heart was barely beating and the development was far behind schedule. They warned that without immediate action, we were risking everything. ⚖️ But as the clock ticked down toward the scheduled abortion, I felt torn. Out of nowhere, an old friend from elementary school, whom I hadn’t seen in 15 years, reentered my life. He was relentless—sending messages, calling, and even going so far as to say that if the child had any complications, he would take full responsibility. His conviction was startling and felt like a sign from the universe. 🩺 Amidst all this, we had another ally—a compassionate gynecologist nearing retirement. Unlike the others, she calmly suggested that it was too early for the doctors to make such definitive conclusions. Her experience and measured words gave us hope in a situation that felt so bleak. 👣 The race to save my son was on. Although the doctors urged for immediate action, I couldn’t shake the feeling that these signs were pointing us in a different direction. We decided to trust the process, despite all odds. ✨ My friend’s words echoed in my mind: “Right now, it’s a 50-50 chance. Just as they claim the baby will be born with deformities, I claim he will be born healthy. They are fighting for death. I am fighting for life, with equal odds.” Those words stayed with me, and we chose to believe in life. 👶 In the end, my first son was born healthy. Today, he is 7 years old, and he will forever be my reminder of how fiercely we must fight for life. I believe that his soul influenced every small decision that led to his birth.
