Joy Can Hold Remembrance
Today is Memorial Day in the United States. And while many of us may be enjoying a long weekend, sunshine, food, family, rest, or a slower Monday, I want to pause and honor what this day is truly about. Today we remember the men and women who died while serving our country. Not as a vague idea. Not as a calendar square. But as real people. People with families. Stories. Laughs. Favorite meals. Inside jokes. Dreams they did not get to finish. And I think joy has a place here, not the loud, confetti kind of joy, but the sacred kind. The kind of joy that says: I will not waste this life. I will notice the people around me. I will love out loud. I will practice gratitude with my feet on the ground. I will remember that freedom is not abstract. It has names. Joy does not erase grief. Joy can sit beside remembrance. Joy can become reverence. Joy can become the way we live with more intention because someone else gave everything. So today, our joy practice is simple: Pause for a moment of gratitude. Say a prayer. Think of a family who is missing someone today. Notice something beautiful. Hug someone a little longer. Send the text. Take the walk. Live this day with honor. And then, if you feel comfortable, share below: What is one thing you are grateful for today? Today we remember. Today we honor. Today we let joy be a form of gratitude.

Let’s upgrade the macros.
The macros of joy: Noticing. Allowing. Sharing. And here’s where it gets really interesting… There’s actual research showing this isn’t just a cute idea. Psychologist Barbara Fredrickson’s work on positive emotions found that joy doesn’t just feel good… 👉 It literally expands your thinking. When you feel joy, your brain broadens. You become more creative. More open. More connected. And over time? You don’t just feel better… 👉 You build real-life resources - relationships, resilience, ideas, opportunities. That’s the part most people miss. Joy isn’t just a moment. It’s a builder. So now think about the macros: Noticing → tells your brain “this matters” Allowing → lets it actually land Sharing → locks it in and expands it outward That last one? That’s where the compound interest lives. Because joy shared = joy multiplied. 👇 Joy prompt (let’s test the science): What’s one small moment of joy from today? Drop it below. Say it out loud. Text it to someone. Let’s build something bigger than just a moment. ✨

Joy check. Let’s use the third macro. We’ve been talking about the macros of joy: Noticing. Allowing. And today… Sharing. This is where it gets fun. Because joy doesn’t just stay with you. It expands when you put it out into the world. Your ideas. Your work. Your voice. Your gifts. That’s all part of it. Sharing isn’t about being loud or perfect. It’s about being willing. Willing to be seen. Willing to contribute. Willing to say, “this is what I’m building.” So today, let’s lean in. 👇 Share something with us: • A project • A business • A podcast • A thought • A win And don’t just post… 👉 Hype someone up 👉 Make a connection 👉 Celebrate what others are creating Because joy multiplies fastest when we share it. ✨

Joy check. Let’s be honest for a second.
Sometimes the word joy can feel… like a lot. A little fluffy. A little overused. Or honestly… not even attainable on certain days. And if that’s you? You’re not wrong. Because not every day feels joyful. And forcing it doesn’t make it real. So let’s take the pressure off. Today isn’t about big, bright, Instagram-worthy joy. It’s about something smaller. More honest. A flicker. A moment of contentment. A tiny exhale where things feel just a little easier. That counts. Because joy doesn’t always arrive as a burst. Sometimes it shows up quietly, sitting right next to everything else you’re carrying. So instead of asking, “Where’s the joy?” Try asking, “Where’s the smallest moment that feels okay?” 👇 Joy prompt: What’s one small thing today that feels just a little bit good? Start there. That’s how it builds. ✨

Yippee. Let’s go. 🌟 Self-Promotion Saturday
Joy was never meant to stay quiet. It was meant to be shared. That thing you’re building… That idea you keep thinking about… That work that lights you up a little more than everything else… That’s not random. That’s your joy pointing outward. And when you share it, something cool happens: Connection grows. People find you. Opportunities start to appear. Not because you forced it… but because you let yourself be seen. So today, we’re keeping it simple and fun. 👇 Drop something you’re excited about: • A project • A business • A podcast • An event • An idea you’re bringing to life And while you’re here… 👉 Cheer someone else on 👉 Make a connection 👉 Follow someone new Because joy doesn’t just grow when we share it… It grows when we build it together. ✨

Two skool groups that have been very helpful for me: - @Kate Galli's Plant Positive in Skool is a community for those who are vegan or plant curious. Kate is hosting a gentle self-care 30 day challenge this month. She also has amazing additional programs which I highly recommend if you want that extra accountability. The basic membership is free if you want to check it out. https://www.skool.com/plant-positive - Eat Well Live Well by Tanya in Skool is a small community of WFPB women who are focused on their health and losing/maintaining weight through behavioral change strategies. Tanya has kicked off a new monthly food/habit/mindset focus to bring new practices into our daily lives. There is a free 7-day trial if you want to take a look. https://www.skool.com/eat-well-live-well-1555
