VIDEO: Trauma Series Part 1
This material is taken directly from our 20 year recovery program. It has helped to transform 1000's of addicts and families, and now, this same teaching series is available to you, free! Trauma is the most un-addressed area in the field of addiction-treatment. Most rehabs are too short to even scratch the surface of unresolved pain. Even when trauma is discussed, most people don't recognie it or flat-out deny they have any trauma. This is mostly due to few therapists truly understands how trauma-impacts work. In this Trauma series, we are uncovering the truth about trauma, how easy it is for everyone to get stuck in it but not even realize it. Unresolved trauma is THE missing link in recovery. Those who make a committment to deal with their own trauma always get better. People who deny trauma can struggle for years to maintain recovery. It's not their fault. They simply haven't been taught where to look. Follow along with the video/slide show, as Dr. Miles teaches you; - What is Trauma - How to identify it, and - How to heal". Let your healing begin!

PDF How Trauma affects the family
Addiction impacts everyone in the family. That's why it's called a "family disease". It's important for recovering addicts to understand how trauma works, just like it's important for family members to recognize their own pain. Not for blame or score keeping, but for healing. We can't heal what we don't acknowledge. This PDF will help you understand how unresolved emotional pain drives addiction, and also keeps family members stuck by focusing on the addict instead of their own pain. Most families hide their own pain, believing that "once the addict gets better, then, the family will be okay". It's not unusual for an addict in recovery to actually outgrow familiy members on an emotional level when the addict is the only one seeking to heal. When family members also seek their own healing, it changes the entire family dynamic. Let me know what you learn about yourself after reading this.
