My (delayed) 1st Win of the 5-day Challenge
Even though Day 1 of the most recent 5-day ADHD Challenge cohort (#4) occurred on Monday, august 31, I am posting my first “win” here with a sweet and sour feeling. Sour due to the “feeling behind, always catching up”. Procrastination and paralysis by analysis has been controlling my life for the past two years or so. After being a highly functional overachiever in a neurotypical American corporation environment, I burned out at least 3 times before I realized, about 1 year ago, that I should not continue struggling professionally, fitting into the mold of a fast-paced, results/money gain-oriented industry. Lately, not having tangible, daily high stakes at risk, my long list of projects to complete is endless and very much overdue. Even though I started the 6-week ADHD Harmony Cohort 4, more than a month ago, just now I’m diving into this platform and moving the chains towards the new version of myself. Day 1 Done! Biggest insight: I’m not broken. I’ve been a fish trying to climb family, societal, and corporate ladders, overcompensating my neurodivergent brain by performing an overachiever role as a perfectionist. Currently, seeing myself as a baby-fish learning to swim in the ocean of possibilities to build my ideal life style. My open loop is: Download IRS transcripts for all four years 2022-2025. One word for how I feel right now: HOPEFUL

I am so excited..
Okay everyone, I am so extremely excited. This week I've gained so much insight and so many new ideas, and I think I really found something that is going to change ADHD Harmony and my AI Twin in the best possible way. This is going to be the biggest update since I started this community, and I'm sooooo hyped about this. I will be sharing some updates here over the next coming days, so stay in touch. We're cooking!! 💛
I am so excited..

Aloha!! Woohoo 🥳 I can’t wait!
How old?
Just wondering how old people were when they discovered they had ADHD. I have found out more about myself and why I feel the way I do which is an eye opener. I think my dad may also have ADHD I don’t know if it’s something that he would be interested in but he does have some of the “traits” I just wondered if there are older people who have just discovered themselves.

I was 33 (in 2013). Diagnosed after 7 years of my son’s diagnosis and treatment. He was identified by school teachers and diagnosed when he was 6 yo. I learned everything about ADHD during those 7 years and then realized I had even worse symptoms than my son. I obtained Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degrees without knowing anything about ADHD. It was a permanent struggle. Feeling different than anyone around me.

Btw, medication for me has been a game changer! And I know my life would have been much different if I had them and the learned coping mechanisms, since an early age. Now at 46, and adding perimenopause to my brain, it’s the hardest it’s ever been.
Daily Check-in
Here's my check-in for 2026-09-21: I've broken my sleep protocol again. I've been going to bed at a reasonable time, but I end up reading for about an hour before I try to fall asleep. I toss and turn, so to make the time pass by faster, I started scrolling on my phone... It's been two days in a row. Then my morning routine is compromised because I get up late ... like 11:30 am instead of my usual 8-9 am. I know what I need to do. Is to get up at 8 am, stick with it during the day and then I will feel sleepy, go to bed early and fall asleep at a reasonable hour. That's the plan... Can I overcome my ADHD behaviour? Can willpower beat it? We'll find out in the next few days. Any suggestions? Have a great day, everyone! How I feel: Happiness 7/10, Energy 7/10, Focus 7/10, Calmness 7/10, Sleep Quality 8/10, Motivation 7/10 What I did: Good Sleep, Morning Sunlight, Breathwork, Cycling, Healthy Eating, No Alcohol, No Late Caffeine, Took Supplements, Hit Protein Goal, Ate Vegetables, Home Cooked Meal, Meditation, Prayer, Journaling, Gratitude Practice, Affirmations, Visualization, Positive Mindset, Deep Work, Focused Morning, Single Tasking, No Meetings, Reading, Learning, Online Course, Helped Someone, Movement

I struggle with the same habit derailing every so often. Unless I am physically exhausted, my natural tendency is to squeeze another little bit of information, or to-do check-off, knowing it’s not serving me for my next day wake up routine. I do it anyway, considering it self-sabotage.

@Susan Cal I totally relate to this. Fortunately, I don’t have any trouble falling asleep once I hit the pillow. My struggle is that I don’t typically feel tired at night after a not-so physically demanding day, PLUS, the notion that I am still behind on so many planned tasks… so I try to do a little more of whatever is pending, which can become hours, which leads to a later bedtime and then disregulating my next-day wake-up routine…. I know, vicious cycle…trying to correct it as I type this.
My Video Testimony
I apologize for my excessive usage of "ums" in advance 🙏🏻- I don't normally talk like this. I did it in 1 take as I pulled over on my drive, and wanted it to be as raw and authentic as possible. Congrats to everyone who completed the 5 day Challenge, to everyone that attempted and gave it their best, and to everyone that took this step regardless. It takes a lot of courage and we should all be super proud of ourselves 👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Best wishes. Az (From Toronto)
