Where are you really at with travel right now?
Quick check-in — no pressure to answer this perfectly: When you think about travel right now, what feels most true for you? • “I really want to go somewhere”• “I like the idea, but timing/life makes it tricky”• “I’m curious, just not ready yet”• “I’m happy reading and getting inspired for now” Any of those (or something else) is totally okay.

During January through end of April, I am traveling every two weeks between Michigan and Florida. Also going to Texas in February and Nashville in February and March. Any other travel will be a matter of interest and timing.
Quick travel question 👇
When you travel, what usually feels best for you? ◯ Just one bag ◯ One bag + carry-on ◯ Carry-on + checked bag There’s no “right” answer here. Some people value speed and flexibility. Others value comfort and having options. What matters most is how you like to move through airports and destinations. If you want, comment why you chose yours that context helps others who feel unsure about what they “should” be doing.

Whether I bring just a carry-on or check luggage depends upon the type of trip I am taking and how long I am going. While I have been an over-packer for most of my life, I now have a goal of trying to pack lighter and not check luggage if possible. I went to London for nine days in July 2025 and used the largest carry-on size luggage that would fit in the overhead bin. I also brought a fairly large backpack. It was summer and I am petite, so small lightweight clothing in packing cubes allowed me to do the carry-on. I love shoes and it was a challenge to limit the amount of pairs I brought with me. I was also able to pack my Dyson hairdryer! That trip was a packing success for me and I hope I can improve even further.
Never Have I Ever: Travel Edition 🌍😏Alright travelers… time to confess.
Never Have I Ever: Travel Edition 🌍😏Alright travelers… time to confess. We’re trying something fun today: Never Have I Ever – Travel Edition. No pressure, no prizes, just stories, laughs, and the kind of travel chaos we can all relate to. I love games like this because they show how people actually travel — not the Instagram version. Some of you are seasoned globe-trotters. Some of you are “I triple-check the gate number” travelers. And some of you are quietly reading this thinking, I have stories I will never admit in public. 😅 I’ll go first: ✅ I have traveled somewhere mainly because the flight was cheap ❌ I have never blamed “bad Wi-Fi” to exit a travel situation ✅ I have pretended I knew what a landmark was when someone mentioned it ❌ I have always packed perfectly for a trip ✅ I have absolutely nodded along on public transit hoping I was going the right way Okay… your turn. Drop your own “Never Have I Ever – Travel Edition” below 👇Keep it light, funny, mildly incriminating, and travel-related. No judgment. No fact-checking. Just stories that remind us why travel is always a little unpredictable — and way more fun because of it. 🧳😂

✅ I have a poor sense of direction. The map apps on the phone have made it a bit easier to find my way, but it can still be a struggle, especially in a foreign country! That's one reason I like to travel with someone or a group.

🔥⚜️ Road to 100: New Orleans Edition ⚜️🔥
As we head into January, I want to set a goal that directly benefits you: 👉 Reach 100 members in One Step Away Travelers. Why? Because you’ve already made something clear —New Orleans is high on the interest list. So here’s the deal 👇 🚶‍♂️ “Invite One, Travel Better” Mini-Challenge If this community has helped you feel more confident, connected, or clear about travel, I’d love your help growing it intentionally. How to participate (simple + human): - Invite one person who’d genuinely enjoy this space - After you invite them, comment: “Invited ✔️” That’s it. No leaderboard. No pressure. Just momentum. 🎉 What Unlocks When We Hit 100 Members When we reach 100, I’ll unlock a private live planning session: 🟣 Live Event: Planning New Orleans — Together - What people actually want to do - Best time of year - Budget comfort zones - Food, music, culture, free time vs structure This won’t be a sales pitch — it’s a co-creation session. 👉 Based directly on that session, I’ll then build an official New Orleans group trip for later this year. ⭐ First 100 = First Dibs Anyone who is part of the first 100 members will get: - 🎟️ First access to the New Orleans trip - 🔓 Early details before it’s shared publicly - ✈️ Priority booking window (before any outside promotion) This is my way of rewarding the people who helped build this from the ground up. This community already feels special. Let’s turn that into something we actually go experience together. If you have questions, ideas, or want help inviting the right person — just comment or DM me. Let’s make 2026’s travel plans start now. 💙✈️ [MILESTONE | ROAD-TO | 100 | GROWTH → TRIP | NOLA | 2026-01-XX]

I am interested in New Orleans. I love jazz music, although I am not a fan of the craziness of Bourbon Street in the evening. I prefer the Frenchman Street area.
